Thought Leadership Events

Annual CEO Summit
Held every May, the annual C-level Summit takes an unbiased and candid look at the key issues keeping business executives up at night with innovative, sustainable solutions provided by thought leaders, CEOs and practitioners.  The program is provocative, surprising and enlightening.  A blend of keynotes, one-on-one interviews, panels and short topical updates tackle external issues ranging from marketers and customers, branding and positioning, and forward-thinking sales strategies.  Internal-related topics include people (the right skillsets, new titles and training); new organizational systems and operations; and how to sustain resilient solution-focused teams.

Connectiv, SIPA and InfoCommerce Group produce a powerful conference each November on how to thrive in today’s competitive business environment. BIMS takes a deep dive into the strategy and tactics to take businesses f all sizes to the next level. Leading executives, thought leaders, respected strategists and successful practitioners convene to offer a rich offering of more than 40 workshops and master classes presenting best practices in audience engagement, revenue-generating marketing, data, advertising sales, and top-level strategy.  The annual Emerging Leaders Awards are announced during the BIMS event.

Professional Networking

Members have the ability to meet with well-matched potential business partners and expand one’s network through introductions at local, national, and international industry events as well as our 10 professional committees.

Professional Committees
Our working group communities bring together nearly 500 of the best minds in business information and media to advance the state of the industry on a wide range of relevant issues. For many media executives, expertise comes alive in these groups – along with the chance to make a difference at the industry level though mentoring. The results of these collective efforts offer a network, research studies and directories that strengthen the business information community overall.

Emerging Leaders Collective
A new community exclusively for developing the next gen of information and media leaders will be designed and led by millennial peers. Finalists and winners of the 2015 Emerging Leader Awards spearhead this group with two annual connection events.

Roadshow Luncheons
A series of luncheons in major markets take deep dives into the Connectiv ecosystem. Each luncheon will open with a Connectiv presentation followed by lunch and a best practices roundtable sharing innovative products, services and programs.

Collegial get-togethers in major hubs around the country bring members together to discuss business, new ideas, challenges and opportunities in casual dinner settings.

Benchmarks and Best Practices

Access to exclusive members-only case studies, industry analytics and research reports that enable members to learn from industry leaders and peers about the issues most critical to their businesses.

Awards and Recognition

Acceleration Awards for Innovation and Marketing Connectiv will launch a new event in Q4, 2016 that Identifies the Innovation Accelerators. These progressive brands and individuals will be recognized for a range of innovations from new products and services, workplace culture, events, marketing programs and solutions.

Neal Awards
The Jesse H. Neal Awards are the most prestigious editorial honors in the field of specialized journalism. Named after Jesse H. Neal, the first managing director of ABM, the Neal Awards were established in 1955 to recognize and reward editorial excellence in business media. The Awards report on the major industry issues of the time. They have exposed corruption, conflicts of interest, and other malfeasance, and brought attention to major new trends, brilliant leadership, innovative tactics, and key developments in global businesses.

CODiE Awards
Since 1986, the SIIA CODiE Awards have recognized more than 1,000 software and information companies for achieving excellence. The CODiE Awards remain the only peer-recognized program in the content, education, and software industries so each CODiE Award win serves as incredible market validation for a product’s innovation, vision, and overall industry impact.

Emerging Leader Awards
The Emerging Leader Awards for ABM/CISD and SIPA members celebrate the Next Gen in B2B media, content and information. The future of our workplace will be based on the strengths and talents of our Millennial employees. By 2050, they will represent 75% of our total workforce. This is a generation that is fundamentally changing our corporate cultures and rethinking how we work. Reward and recognition are key drivers for this group. The annual Emerging Leader Awards recognize five rising stars, both men and women, under 35 years of age at time of nomination. A total of 15 finalists are identified by a screening panel of SIIA executives, and the final five are selected by a jury of leading executives from the Women’s Leadership Council. All finalists are invited to attend the annual BIMS conference along with their nominators. The five winners are announced at our awards luncheon at BIMS.

Gertrude Crain Leadership Award
The Gertrude Crain Award recognizes a leader within the B2B Media and Information community who embodies the SIIA Women's Leadership and Networking Council's mission of excellence, service and success.
The Award honors Gertrude Crain, chairman of Crain Communications and a legendary figure in B2B media. Gertrude Crain was the longtime treasurer of Crain Communications before becoming chairman in 1973, and then leading Crain Communications for over twenty years until 1996 when she passed away at the age of 85.
