David Anderson is a well know market data consultant on both sides of the Atlantic. He has worked in the market data industry since 1984 - including roles with Telerate, Bishopsgate Systems and he spent nearly 13 years with Reuters culminating in various global marketing roles; predominantly working on market data systems (e.g. Triarch and RMDS). Since 2002 David has been operating Atradia (www.atradia.com), a management consultancy practice focused on the market data industry. He has been quoted commenting on the market data industry in major publications such as the Wall Street Journal, the Financial Times, the International Herald Tribune, Business Week and many others. David speaks on the subject of market data at conferences and has moderated a wide variety of industry panel sessions. He edited the respected annual ‘IMD Reference’ book between 2003 and 2009 and most recently he has been very closely involved with the new SIIA/FISD initiative to create a professional certification program for market and reference data practitioners. David also acts as a Program Director for a variety of other FISD activities.

Ms Gupta is Senior Vice President and Head of Market Data & Access in Singapore Exchange (SGX). She is responsible for business development of market data, trading access and establishing co-location service and points of presence in key liquidity venues around the world like Tokyo, London, New York and Chicago. Ms Gupta joined SGX in 1996 through SIMEX (Singapore International Monetary Exchange) prior to its merger with the Stock Exchange of Singapore (SES) on 1 December 1999. Over these past 15 years, she has played a number of key roles in areas of solutions delivery and Programme Management. Under her programme management leadership, SGX successfully deployed major business solutions such as the Securities Trading Engine in 2008 and the Derivatives Clearing Engine in 2009. Prior to joining SGX, Ms Gupta was with Tata Consultancy Services in Mumbai, where she worked in various software development and IT project management assignments.

 

Stuart Gurr

Stuart is currently the Asia Pacific Head of Global Trading Technology for RBS. His team's responsibilities include the full spectrum of investment banking related infrastructure technologies, comprising electronic trading, market data, eCommerce, grid computing and execution/market connectivity services. The division's product coverage is cross asset-class and extends from front through to back office operations, from client research through to settlement and confirmation. Stuart has previously worked at JP Morgan in various capacities and prior to that spent many years travelling the world with PwC and Accenture advising Financial Services firms on internet-based wealth management and dealing propositions. Originally from the UK, Stuart graduated from university with entirely unfulfilled specialism's in predictive speech algorithms and microprocessor design.

Mr Lim currently leads the Market Access team at Singapore Exchange (SGX). His primary responsibility is the development of Trading Access services for SGX’s securities and derivatives markets. This includes the early 2011 introduction of SGX Co-Location Service to cater to SGX’s diverse community of latency-sensitive participants. Previously, Mr Lim also held positions in Membership Development and Business Management at SGX. Prior to joining SGX in 2003, Mr Lim was a Business Consultant at Reuters Asia, responsible for Business Development in the Financial Services sector. He also worked at Morgan Grenfell where he held roles in securities dealing, institutional sales, and technology between 1993 and 1997. Mr Lim holds a Bachelor of Computer Science, a Master of Professional Accounting, a Master of Business Administration, and a Master of Management Research.

Peter Tierney

Peter Tierney is a principal of Saquish Partners and an Advisor at AsisEx markets and specializes in market access and financial technology solutions in the Asia region.

Originally from Ireland Peter has worked in senior financial technology roles in the UK, US and Asia. Peter draws on deep subject matter expertise in both the pre- and post-trade environments, telcomms, trading architecture and data management and has a demonstrated specialty in developing platform services that bring together communities within the financial space. He joined Thomson Financial ESG (now Omgeo) in 1991 as part of the founding team and worked in London, Singapore and the company’s headquarters in Boston. Peter was part of the executive team that defined and executed the merger with the Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation (DTCC) creating Omgeo. Peter then joined the financial extranet provider Radianz (now BT Radianz) where he led global strategic business development. Among other things, Peter and his team was instrumental in developing their low-latency proximity hosting offering in NY, London and Tokyo. Most recently Peter led the successful development of the NYSE Technologies business in Asia. Under his leadership, the business established a strong enterprise software and services revenue flow in the areas of order routing, market data and exchange technology. Peter was instrumental in the acquisition of Japan-based Metabit in 2011 and the definition of NYSE Technologies’ global Liquidity Hub strategy. Peter has established deep and successful relationships around the region with exchanges, brokers and buy-sides.

Peter guest lectures on financial technology as part of Singapore Management University’s (SMU) Masters in IT (Finance) program. He is married with 2 children and is an active member of the Irish community in Singapore.
