We will have two main areas of focus in this meeting:

1) Exchanges' policies for Non-display usage of their data and the creation of derived data products

2) Best practices and other issues related to market data audits

Is the Customer always Right?

Customer firms voice their needs, describe their challenges, frustrations, hopes and opportunities and put forward ideas as to how we in the market data industry can achieve more collectively? We are in Paris at the very heart of Europe and we take the opportunity to hear from European based customers faced with uncertain markets and an intensified sense of austerity – including the members of various customer lobby groups. These themes may be especially topical in Europe but they also resonate globally. This session is intended to be practical and pragmatic – describing problems but also suggesting realistic solutions.

Innovation and new thinking in Market and Reference Data

“In with the new” does not necessarily mean “out with the old”- how many truly new and innovative ideas have emerged in 2011 and 2012? We discuss innovation from different dimensions - the generation of new content, new technologies for delivering and viewing content, and new commercial paradigms. Are some of these new ideas simply old products repackaged? Customer firms often site a yearning for new products from their suppliers, while suppliers sometimes hit obstacles with customers resisting change. A combination of customers and suppliers debate this topic.
