Debra Walton Announced as 2017 Honoree of Gertrude Crain Award & Six Executives Join Connectiv’s Circle of Excellence

CHICAGO, IL (May 4, 2017) – Connectiv, the Business Information Association, today announced Debra Walton, Global Managing Director of Customer Proposition, Financial & Risk, Thomson Reuters as the 2017 Gertrude Crain Award recipient at the Connectiv Executive Summit in Chicago.

The Gertrude Crain Award honors an outstanding leader within the B2B media & information industry, and is named after Gertrude R. Crain, a successful and highly regarded B2B executive whose career achievements serve as a role model for executives across generations.

Presenting the Award was Cathilea Robinett, President, e.Republic and the 2016 Gertrude Crain Award honoree.  Robinett noted, "Debra’s ability to succeed as an entrepreneur is at the heart of who she is. She doesn’t see innovation as an option, she sees it as a necessity and goes for it. Her track record of continuous success in such a dynamic market is a testament to how forward thinking she is. Debra is a shining example of gender equality and opportunity in a typically male-dominated industry. Her career progression is impressive, as is her philanthropic work with refugee women and women entrepreneurs.”
