SIIA Releases Blockchain Issue Brief at Education Business Forum

Washington, D.C. (December 6, 2017) – The Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA), the principal association for the software and digital content industries released an Issue Brief entitled "Blockchain: Overview and Policy Considerations" today. The Brief can be found here.

SIIA Vice President for Public Policy, Mark MacCarthy, issued the following statement:

"Blockchain is a promising technology. Policymakers can best support the development of blockchain applications though a technologically neutral regulatory approach and support for experimentation, both by regulated industries and their regulators.'

"SIIA’s blockchain Issue Brief is the latest example of SIIA technology policy thought leadership. SIIA's Education Technology Industry Network-organized December 5-6 Education Business Forum is an excellent venue to consider how blockchain can help the education sector. On January 18, 2018 SIIA will host another blockchain discussion relevant to additional sectors with the Congressional Blockchain Caucus."
