SIIA Thanks Register of Copyrights for Her Service
Washington, DC (October 21, 2016) – Today, the Librarian of Congress transferred the existing Register of Copyrgihts, Maria Pallante to the post of Senior Adviser to the Librarian and appointed Karyn Temple-Clagget as Acting Register. “Register Pallante was an exemplary public servant,” said Mark MacCarthy, Senior Vice President of Public Policy for the Software & Information Industry Association. “She worked exceptionally hard to ensure that the incentives in the copyright law worked for everyone: large corporate creators, small ones, and individual artists. We have every confidence in Ms. Temple-Clagget’s abilities to manage the many ongoing policy matters pending in front of the Office, and look forward to assisting the Library in a deliberate and careful search to fill the post.”
