SIIA Welcomes Approval of Vishal Amin for Intellectual Property Enforcement Coordinator

Washington D.C. (August 4, 2017) – The Software & Information Industry Association, the principal association for the software and digital content industries, today welcomed the Senate’s approval of Vishal J. Amin for Intellectual Property Enforcement Coordinator.

SIIA Vice President for Public Policy, Mark MacCarthy, issued this statement:

“Proper enforcement of intellectual property rights is critical to their success both in the United States and globally. IPEC plays a vital role in coordinating Administration enforcement efforts to ensure that they are effective and involve all industry players in cooperative initiatives.

“Mr. Amin understands the importance of intellectual property rights to companies as well as the importance of a well-functioning intellectual property regime in promoting creativity, economic growth, and jobs. SIIA welcomes his approval to this position and looks forward to working with him.”

SIIA sent a letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee in May 2017 supporting the nomination of Vishal Amin. The letter can be found here.
