Association Media & Publishing announced the appointment of John
T. Adams III as executive director. Adams was selected to lead AM&P
by virtue of his strong publishing and media track records of success.
Adams began his career as a newspaper reporter, later moving into
association publishing. Most recently, he was director, communication
services, at the Nuclear Energy Institute. He also was publications
director for the Special Libraries Association and has consulted with
associations in improving their communication and publishing programs.
Earlier, he oversaw publications and electronic media at the Society
for Human Resource Management, including the editorial direction,
writing, editing, design, production, and advertising sales for a
100-plus page monthly magazine with 150,000-circulation; a monthly
tabloid newspaper; website content development; and advertising sales.
“We are delighted that John has agreed to join us as our new
executive director, as we embark on a new year of growth,” says AM&P
President Erin Pressley, vice president, NACS Media Group at The
Association for Convenience & Fuel Retailing. “His experience in
building communities and his knowledge of publishing are going to bring
us to new levels of value and service – and success.”
Adams says he has often thought that leading AM&P would be an
ideal opportunity. “I’m looking forward to working with the staff,
members, and board of directors to make the organization even more vital
to its stakeholders,” he says.
