Annual Meeting Encore: Focused Learning and Networking

Share |

On January 10, 2020, eight of the most popular and energizing annual meeting sessions will return to the stage at the American Bar Association, Chicago. If you couldn’t make it to AMP 360 in June; you were there, but were in another great session; or you just want to see one of your favorites again, here’s your chance.

Given that we are, admittedly, a little biased in our excitement for the AM&P Annual Meeting Encore, we asked some of the early registrants what drew them to the event and what they are looking forward to.

Here is a lightly edited exchange with Tim Eigo, editor, Arizona Attorney Magazine, for the State Bar of Arizona.

Eigo: What I most look forward to at the Annual Meeting Encore is having a concise and focused opportunity to learn and to meet others who are engaged in the challenging work of association publishing and content delivery. The sessions are well chosen, the speakers are talented thought leaders, and the city of Chicago is vibrant and highly accessible to those in the west.

Eigo: All the Encore topics will benefit me and my team, but the digital and social media sessions, as well as the session on extending conference content, may have the most immediate impact on the way we operate.

Those who work in association publishing must routinely learn new ways to energize recurring topics. The Annual Meeting Encore promises to provide tips and solid takeaways to transform our news and publishing operations. I count on AM&P for smart, well-delivered offerings, and this Chicago conference promises all of that in a focused and accessible timeframe.

Eigo: AM&P routinely meets back East, in the heart of associations and publishing. But coming west, even one time zone, makes a world of difference for those of us west of the Mississippi. It allows us to engage in focused learning and networking, all with less travel time. In January, the heart of association publishing will be in the center of the country — for one day anyway!

I have attended — and presented at — the AM&P Annual Meeting, and its offerings enlighten and engage me. The in-person conferences are high-quality events with leading speakers from around the country, and the digital offerings create tremendous value even when travel isn’t possible. AM&P events and presentations have a way of answering all the important questions even before I’ve formulated them in my head — the sign of a forward-thinking organization.
