AM&P Is Looking for a Few Good Advisory Board Members

Share |

Are you interested in taking your volunteer experience with AM&P to the next level? Do you want to help guide the future of your professional organization?

If you answered “yes” to either or both of those questions, the Call for Nominations for AM&P’s Advisory Board of Directors is now open.

AM&P’s Nominating Committee is seeking candidates to serve on the Association’s Advisory Board. There are currently six seats open—five seats for nonprofit association members, and one seat for an Industry Service Partner (ISP) member. Each of these seats serves a two-year term.

We’re looking for enthusiastic individuals passionate about AM&P and the difference it has made and can continue to make in the media and publishing industry for associations. We’re also looking for people with no shortage of great ideas about how we can increase the value of membership. And while AM&P is headquartered in Washington, DC, we’re not just looking for locals—in fact, we’d love to find some Board members from across the country!

If you’ve contributed to AM&P as a member or leader of a committee, an annual meeting speaker, an EXCEL judge, or in any other fashion, and you have interest in becoming a member of the Advisory Board, we encourage you to apply. The Advisory Board meets face-to-face twice each year, once at the Annual Meeting (held in June) and once in December, and then holds quarterly conference call meetings. Board members are also required to serve on at least one committee as well.

The brief application can be found here. Completed forms must be returned no later than March 27, 2020. After the deadline, the Nominating Committee will review all applications and arrange for phone interviews with all candidates, before selecting a slate of nominees for recommendation to AM&P’s existing Advisory Board. All candidates will be notified of the Board’s decision by mid-April.

If you are selected as a candidate for AM&P’s Advisory Board, you will be expected to attend the in-person New Board Member Orientation in Washington, DC on May 28, 2020, as well as the Association’s Annual Meeting, June 24-26, 2020, also in Washington, DC.

Questions about Board service? Don’t hesitate to contact me at lhoffer@wmia.org or 571-279-8341.

We hope you will apply!
