Best Use Of Social Media

Enter

Content-sharing initiatives that enhanced readers' engagement with a publication's editorial brand, expanded its audience, or improved its news-gathering capabilities. Social media is defined broadly: in addition to networks such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google+, Pinterest, Storify, etc., eligible entries may use proprietary networks, forums, social blogs, and comments, and may tap single-user or crowd-sourced content. Judges will look for examples of engaging posts and robust conversations; compelling content designed for sharing and audience involvement; integration of social media into other formats, commentary, or coverage; and the use of social media for internal editorial purposes, such as reporting. The best entries will demonstrate how a publication rose above generic promotion to provide editorial utility and value, and show the publication to be a participating member of its community. Examples may be submitted from all or any of desktop, tablet, or mobile platforms. Entries should state the editorial goals of each submitted initiative, how well they were met, and metrics used to quantify success.
