About the presenters:
Deniece Peterson, Manager, Industry Analysis, is responsible for leading the team that provides INPUT’s in-depth member-driven research and analysis of government spending, market trends, policy and legislation, and business development best practices.
Prior to her role with INPUT, Peterson was a project manager with a small market research and marketing communications federal contractor, where she was responsible for directing market research and analysis, marketing communications, and training engagements for public and private clients. In this role, she also developed curriculum, provided instructional design, and served as instructor for a government marketing training course.
With more than 10 years of management consulting and research experience, Peterson has extensive experience in developing sales and marketing strategies for IT product and services companies. Her expertise includes performing strategic market research and competitive analysis, and developing strategic marketing plans to assist federal IT vendors in creating an alignment of the best products, markets, customers, messaging, delivery channels and partners.
Her prior experience also includes federal market research, agency profiling, opportunity identification and proposal support as an Independent Consultant.
Peterson holds an MBA and bachelor’s degree from the University of Denver.
Michael P. Binko is founder and managing general partner of Gemini Venture. Gemini’s Venture Development Fund focuses on start-up angel, private equity and venture capital investments for technology companies in the software, SaaS, cloud computing, communications, Internet, digital media, data management and related technology sectors.
Binko is also currently acting chief executive officer (CEO) and president as well as a member of the Board of Directors for Kaulkin Information Systems (KIS), a leading Software-as-a-Service cloud-computing (SaaS-Cloud) technology and solutions service provider concentrating on heavily-regulated and compliance-driven industries. Markets served by KIS include financial services, healthcare/medical, pharmaceuticals, franchising, property management, legal, government/education and others.
Prior to founding Gemini, Binko served as vice president of corporate and business development for Xybernaut Corporation (NASDAQ: XYBR).
Binko is involved with the Advanced Technology Program at the National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST) as a Business Evaluator and has served as an instructor in the Corporate Ventures program with George Washington University (DC and VA campuses).
Nick Hoover is a senior editor for InformationWeek Government, where he covers the federal IT sector.
