Access Intelligence's Marketing & Media Group Announces Structural Changes
Access Intelligence's Kerry Smith, divisional president, marketing & media group, has announced some significant changes to the structure of his brands and teams as follows:
Dan Hanover (pictured) has been promoted to senior vice president of the marketing group, where he will oversee growth and expansion of Event Marketer, Chief Marketer, LeadsCon, Multichannel Merchant, VMA Media, and now PR News and The Social Shake-Up event. The PRNews group marketing team, led by Laura Snitkovskiy, who was promoted last month to group marketing director of PRNews and The Social Shake-Up, will continue to oversee marketing for the group, and along with Melissa Hoffmann on content, report into the PRNews Group Publisher.
Jessica Heasley has been promoted from content director to group publisher of Event Marketer and Chief Marketer, with responsibility for content, sales, event strategy and overall management of these brands. Heather O'Connell, who currently runs LeadsCon, Connect to Convert and Etail Operations Summit, will take over management of Multichannel Merchant.
Bill Amstutz has been promoted to group publisher of AdMonsters and AdExchanger. In addition, FOLIO: will move into Amstutz's group. This will also allow Robbie Caploe to devote her full attention to managing AI's Cynopsis business. Mike Grebb will continue to manage both the Cablefax and Studio brands, and Megan Kuczynski will manage AI's Esports Business Summit, reporting in to Smith.
"I'm excited about these changes," noted Smith. "This new structure will create better alignment of roles and responsibilities as well as a stronger platform for growth across the group."

Headline in Forbes This Week: A Cold Email to Mark Cuban Led This Entrepreneur to Raise $230 Million to Predict Politics With AI
"Tim Hwang cold emailed Mark Cuban to fund his big data startup, FiscalNote, at just 21 years old." That's how a really interesting article on the Forbes website begins about Tim Hwang, founder and CEO of SIPA member FiscalNote.
The article, by Alejandro Cremades, goes on. "Tim sent a cold email to Cuban, owner of the Dallas Mavericks and Shark Tank's star. To his surprise, Cuban replied in just 45 minutes. They traded a couple more emails and Cuban said he would be their lead investor. Along with Jerry Yang, the founder of Yahoo, and NEA, that seed round grew to $1.3 million."

And a Final Congrats and Shout-out
Lee Landenberger, a staff writer for Clarivate and longtime editor and SIPA member, was kind enough to tell me that last Tuesday was the last day for Don Johnston at Clarivate.
In a Facebook post, Johnston wrote that he came up "just shy of 30 years at Clarivate Analytics-Thomson Reuters-Thompson Media Group-BioWorld-AHC. I had a good run. Thank you to all of my colleagues over the years, and a special shout-out to Lynn, Holland and Penney, with whom I have worked for a quarter century and who are still at Clarivate, and to Lee, who had circled back to join us."
I will miss Don, especially when the SIPAwards judging comes around. He was always there to be counted on (as is Lee and many others).
