Judging Process (for more information please visit the Judging page)
The Codie Awards are judged in two rounds. First round Codie Awards Judges are representatives from the software and information industry trade press, mainstream technology writers, analysts, consultants and subject-matter experts. Judges must submit an application which is reviewed for relevant experience. The rankings of nominees by first round judges determine the Codie Awards Finalists.

The second round is a peer-review process in which SIIA member companies review the finalists and cast votes for winners in each category.

Winners will be determined from a combination of first round judge rankings and SIIA Member votes. First round judges' rankings will be weighted at 30% and SIIA Member votes will be weighted at 70%.

  • First Round
It is the responsibility of each nominee to promptly forward a copy of the product, any necessary access codes or other appropriate information to assigned judges by November 4, 2005.

Beta versions of software will not be accepted.

Gold masters are accepted but not recommended.

Judges are not required to sign Non-Disclosure Agreements.

Any of the following may be submitted to judges:

    • Full copy of nominated product (preferred for appropriate products)
    • Website URL and login information for online-only products
    • Self-running CD Demo
    • Self-running online demo access
    • Guided demos are acceptable only with the agreement of category judges and may not run longer than 30 minutes. (See Information on Guided Demos). It is highly recommended that you have a separate method of presenting your product to judges.

  • Second Round
Only active SIIA Members may vote in the second round of judging. Member companies are provided one vote per company in each Codie Awards category.

    Campaigning for Second Round Votes
In order to keep SIIA Members from being inundated with requests for votes, finalist promotion is limited to the SIIA-sponsored Finalist Review Program. Further details about the program will be provided when finalists are announced.
