SIIA reserves the right to cancel any CODiE Awards category with fewer than 10 nominations. If a category is cancelled, nominees in that category will have the option to move to another category or to receive a full refund.
Products must launch before October 1, 2009 in order to be eligible for the 2010 CODiE Awards.
Products that were nominees/finalists/winners last year are eligible to be considered again in 2010.
The CODiE Awards product categories are judged in two rounds. First round CODiE Awards judges rank the nominees in order to determine the CODiE Award Finalists. These first round judges include representatives from the software and information industry trade press, mainstream technology writers, analysts, consultants and subject-matter experts. They have been selected through an application process in which they are reviewed for relevant experience. The second round is a peer-review process in which SIIA member companies review the finalists and cast votes for winners in each category. Voting will be split by first round judges, who receive a 60% weight and second round votes, which will also receive a 40% weight.
Product nomination deliverables
By late October you will receive a list of the judges assigned to your category(s). If you do not receive a list of judges by October 28, 2009, please contact Lisa Mitchell-Brooks.
SIIA will also send your Judges' contact information, because you will be expected to send them and SIIA a copy of your product for review. It is the responsibility of each nominee to promptly forward a copy of the product, any necessary access codes or other appropriate information to assigned judges by November 13, 2009.
Before November 13, 2009, please send at least ONE of the following to all of the judges in your product category, as well as to SIIA:
- Full copy of nominated product (preferred, if possible)
- Website URL and log-in information for online-only products
- Self-running CD Demo
- Self-running online demo access
You may attempt to arrange a guided demo with your judges. Guided demos are allowed ONLY with the agreement of the judge. Nominees may not harass judges to view guided demos.
Please note:
- Beta versions of software will not be accepted.
- Gold masters are accepted, but not recommended.
- Judges are not required to sign Non-Disclosure Agreements.
Payment
Pre-payment is required for all nominations. This payment is due to SIIA by October 7, unless otherwise noted. If payment is not received by that date, the nominated product will not be considered for the 2010 CODiE Awards.
Cancellations
Cancellations before August 31 will receive a 100% refund.
Cancellations after August 31 will not be refunded unless the nomination category is eliminated.
Second Round Judging - Campaigning
Only active SIIA Members may vote in the second round of judging. Member companies are provided one vote per company in each CODiE Awards category. Voting is held securely online from December 7, 2009 - January 15, 2010.
In order to keep SIIA members from being inundated with campaign material, finalist promotion is limited to the SIIA-sponsored Finalist Review Program. Further details about the Review program will be provided when finalists are announced. Any campaigning for votes outside of the SIIA-sponsored Finalist Review Program will result in a warning for the first offense abd product disqualification for the second offense.
CODiE Award Finalists and Winners Logos
2010 CODiE Award Finalists and Winners are permitted use of their respective CODiE Award logos indefinitely and may only use the logo in accordance with the SIIA license terms and conditions of use.
