The Categories
The CODiE™ Awards offer 70 product categories and 13 “best overall” categories from which to choose. A nominating company may select up to two categories (2 product categories or 1 product category and 1 “best overall” category) as part of the base package. Additional categories may be added for an additional fee. See pricing information for details.
Beginning in 2010-2011, all products participating in the CODiE™ Awards program are reviewed based on a standardized set of criteria that have been developed through a third-party firm in order to maintain objectivity.
The 48 review criteria are organized within a series of 10 primary attributes:

Additionally, nominees and judges are welcome to offer suggestions for inclusion or exclusion of criteria. Judges are expected to confirm the range of usable criteria prior to the start of the review phase.

Business Software
The following categories focus on applications, products and services that are developed by independent software vendors (ISVs) for use in business, government, academic, or other organizational settings. The products will be evaluated on a range of criteria within seven (7) attribute domains. The definitions of the attributes and criteria are available in the CODiE™ Awards Review Attributes and Criteria document. Judges in any category will consider adding, removing or adjusting appropriate criteria. Nominees are also invited to provide input on the criteria by email.
Best Advertising/Creative Solution
Recognizes the best application or service designed for use in the creation and management of advertising or promotional campaigns. Nominations might include design software, purchasing management tools, campaign management/tracking applications, Web advertising management software, online advertising campaign services.

Awards the software solution that best audits and manages software assets. This award includes all solutions designed to audit software assets across a network environment.

Recognizes the application or service that best facilitates analysis of data, research, and/or competitive information, enabling business managers to make strategic decisions.
