SciVerse Applications is a platform for 3rd party apps that contextually integrate content, data and features into STM workflows on SciVerse Hub, ScienceDirect and Scopus. The platform is unique in scale and breadth, spanning domains and integrating into a significant portion of scholarly full-text content and the broadest abstract/citations database. It evolves the traditional STM publishing model.

SciVerse Applications enables personalization through free or paid apps. Content and context (e.g. what is the user reading) is available to the apps via APIs. Leveraging Open Source technology, an app built for SciVerse is easily extendable to other such implementations (e.g. iGoogle) or vice versa. Apps may also run outside of the SciVerse framework allowing broader syndication of SciVerse content.
