Arcademics Plus - Arcademics

Teachers are struggling to engage young learners in drill-and-practice math facts. 97% of elementary students have played video games outside of class. Our goal is to integrate aspects of multi-player gaming with educational content to transform the learning experience.

Arcademics Plus is an online multiplayer educational game system which provides a platform for the practice of basic math facts, in an emotionally engaging gaming environment. Arcademics also incorporates progress monitoring reports, which collects gameplay data in real time, compiles it and displays it to teachers - enabling teachers to evaluate student performance early and tailor game content to student needs.

Arcedmics offers teachers a number of benefits and flexible methods of incorporating math fact instruction: fun and engaging drill-and-practice work, differentiated instruction for students of varying needs or who have preexisting gaps in mathematical proficiency, the possibility of a collaborative or social learning environment, and a gaming-based challenge to students.

    iCAN - Avant Assessment

iCAN is a cloud-based tool that brings standards into the classroom to facilitate formative assessment and learning. iCAN supports teachers and students to seamlessly integrate student-created evidence with instruction and curriculum in a single, online portfolio. Architected for any set of standards or sets of performance criteria, iCAN is currently used by World Language and English Language Learners (ELL). Integration of Language and Common Core State Standards is a current initiative.

Students demonstrate learning and competence by providing digital evidence of their skill in the target subject. Personalized learning pathways are developed through teacher-student collaboration. Continuous teacher feedback, along with parent review through a parent portal, creates a partnership that reinforces student responsibility for learning.

--Students self-assess, set goals and respond to instruction through understandable, actionable learning objectives while building comprehensive digital portfolios (including text, audio and video) of evidence of competency.

--Teachers communicate expectations, guide students with ongoing feedback, and continuously monitor and evaluate progress towards proficiency.

--Parents participate in their student’s learning path with access to their student’s tasks and portfolios.

iCAN currently includes ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines, Texas ELP Standards, Florida World Languages Standards and WIDA CAN DO Descriptors, with more to come.

Ripple Effects Whole Spectrum Learning System - Ripple Effects

Ripple Effects Whole Spectrum Learning System 4.0 is a deeply personalized way to address non-academic factors in school success. Imagine four students referred for defiance. All start with a remediating tutorial on defiance. An expert system couples with their own intuition to lead each the underlying reasons (risk factors in multiple domains) for their behavior. It then presents for each the most relevant set of best practices to address that situation. Students (and teachers) use whatever instructional modes are the best match for their learning style: case study, cognitive framing, behavioral training, true video story, peer modeling, transfer training opportunities, media analysis, role playing, journal writing, games to assess content mastery, and interactive personal profiles are options. Feedback mechanisms, a video game style point structure and confidentiality protections are built in. More than 98% of students assigned to Ripple Effects for any reason (most often behavioral offenses), privately go beyond the assignment to explore additional issues that deeply affect their school experience, but are rarely mentioned in it. Assessment tools and 500 engaging, culturally responsive tutorials, help build “Strengths” address “Problems” and explore underlying “Reasons.” RCTs show grades go up and behavior problems go down after exposure to Ripple Effects.
