¤ 2007 Information Industry Summit: Steering Committee Volunteers Needed
The Sixth Information Industry Summit will be held January 30 - 31, 2007 at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York. The 2007 Information Industry Summit steering committee will officially launch on Thursday, June 15, 2006 at 10:00 AM (ET). ¤ Regional Events: Boston Planning Meeting, 6/15
SIIA's Content Division staff will host a planning meeting for regional Content Division events in Boston, MA. The meeting will be held via conference call at 9:00 AM (ET) on June 15, 2006. In addition, planning is currently underway for regional Content Division programming in the Silicon Valley and will soon begin for Chicago, IL. ¤ CFO Roundtable: Current and Future Expected Guidance Around Section 409A, 6/13, NYC
On June 13 from 8:30 AM - 10:30 AM (ET), the SIIA will hold a roundtable discussion for CFOs on the current and future expected guidance around Section 409A, the deferred compensation rules. In addition, the session will also address the more challenging aspects of Section 409A, including timing of elections, private company concerns and permissible distribution events. The 2006 Content Forum was held May 15 - 16, 2006 at the Westin St. Francis in San Francisco, CA. The 140+ attendees gained valuable insights on content product development, which included a discussion on the impact of technology on this process. The session was led by Forrester's Charlene Li and included speakers from Digg, wetpaint.com, Six Apart, del.icio.us and Google. ¤ SIIA Presented Content Anti-Piracy Education Fund Contribution from DeSilva & Phillips
For the first time since its inception four years ago, DeSilva & Phillips' annual Media Dealmakers Summit featured a day devoted to Digital Media, with sessions on online advertising, lead-generation, vertical search and private equity/vc in the age of Web 2.0. As always, DeSilva & Phillips donates the surplus funds from this not-for-profit event to the educational funds of industry organizations. In honor of the first-ever Digital Media day, Jeffrey Dearth, Partner at DeSilva & Phillips, presented SIIA President Ken Wasch with a check for $3,507 at the 2006 Content Forum.
