If you prefer to have your registration application processed more quickly, "special handling" may be requested. However, the Copyright Office will grant the request for special handling only if the copyright claim in the application is involved in a pending or prospective litigation, a customs matter, or an impending contractual deadline. An additional fee for a registration application filed with a request for special handling is $500.
