Why Join? We're the Industry Advocate

SIIA serves as the industry advocate for education technology and content providers through projects geared toward

  • Enhancement and increased funding of programs that address education technology needs, including targeted programs that provide resources for technology and teacher training. Key activities include: NCLB implementation; increased federal appropriations; enhanced support among the broader industry, business community and Administration.

  • An improved regulatory environment that supports the full potential of technology and Internet-based education, including the reform of existing rules and the absence of new and inappropriate barriers. Issues addressed under this umbrella include federal student aid reform, government competition and copyright protection.

  • Long-term investment in education and training to ensure a strong workforce for the 21st Century. Key activities include advocacy for an information technology training tax credit, support for public-private and education-industry partnerships, and support for an education and training system that provides individuals with the skills and knowledge necessary for careers in technology.
