Phillip Hallam-Baker is an expert in security related to both inside and outside messaging. He is Principal Scientist and Web Services Security Architect for VeriSign, Inc. He is responsible for driving and delivering key security specifications and technologies through industry-recognized standards bodies and other organizations. Mr. Hallam-Baker has a degree in Electronic Engineering from Southampton University and a Doctorate in Computer Science from the Nuclear Physics Department at Oxford University. He was appointed a Post Doctoral Research Associate at DESY in 1992 and CERN Fellow in 1993. He is currently a researcher at the World Wide Web Consortium at MIT.

Peggy L. Johnson is president of QUALCOMM Internet Services (QIS). Johnson began her career at QUALCOMM in 1989 as a software engineer within QUALCOMM Wireless Business Solutions (QWBS) division. She held several positions within QWBS, including director of business development, where she was responsible for adding network management centers for the OmniTRACS system in Malaysia, Korea, Japan and Mexico. She also served as vice president of technology, where she led the customer software group. She joined QUALCOMM Consumer Products in 1997 as vice president of business development and was appointed vice president of sales shortly thereafter. Johnson was named senior vice president of sales for QCP in April 2000 and took on the additional responsibilities of marketing for Kyocera Wireless in a transitional role after the sale of QCP to Kyocera.

Prior to this role, Carlos was Vice President of Engineering for the Novell Resource Management business unit responsible for the delivery of the ZENworks product suite and integration with Red Carpet Enterprise from Ximian, where Carlos had been Vice President of Engineering. At Ximian, Carlos was responsible for the innovation, design, development, rollout, maintenance and support of Ximian's solutions for desktop updates and installations as well as software and resource management under the Ximian Red Carpet brand, serving enterprise customers as well as over a million open source users.

John Mutch, 48, was elected president and CEO of Peregrine Systems, Inc. in August 2003. He was originally named to Peregrine’s board of directors in March 2003 and will continue to serve as a director. With more than 20 years in the technology industry, Mr. Mutch brings extensive executive management and enterprise software experience to Peregrine. Previously, Mutch served as CEO and president of HNC Software, a San Diego-based software company, which was acquired by Fair Isaac and Company in August 2002. Under his leadership, the company grew from $128 million to $226 million in revenue. From 1994 to 1997, Mutch was the founder and general partner of MVenture Holdings, Inc., a special situation private equity fund that invests in public and private technology companies. Prior to that, he spent seven years at Microsoft in sales and marketing executive positions.

Wasch has led the association from its infancy to its merger with the Information Industry Association in January 1999, resulting in the formation of SIIA.

His open source research has included corporate adoption, vendor strategies and development of firm-sponsored open source communities. Prior to joining SJSU, he spent 15 years as president of Palomar Software, was a MacWEEK columnist and was the original designer of the ModSim programming language. Phillip WinslowPhillip Winslow

Phillip Winslow is an equity research analyst in the Technology Research Group at Credit Suisse First Boston covering the software industry with particular focus on the security, storage, and systems management verticals.
