Networking Opportunities
The SIIA Ed Tech Government Forum provides a unique opportunity for SIIA members to connect with education leaders, as well as with each other.
- 1:1 Connections Meetings:
The 2010 Forum will once again include SIIA's signature 1:1 connections meetings, in this case providing an opportunity for SIIA members to meet with representatives from national education organizations. Pre-arranged 1:1 "speed-dating" meetings will maximize attendee companies' exposure to strategic partnerships with key professional organizations representing teachers, administrators, college officials, etc. Participating associations include: AASA, CEC, CCSSO, CoSN, IRA, ISTE, NASBE, NSBA, iNACOL, NACS, NASDSE, NAESP, NEA, and NSTA. To learn more about the participating organizations, visit the 1:1 Connections Meetings page.
- Washington Education Technology Policy Summit (jointly with CoSN/ISTE/SETDA): The opening sessions of the SIIA Forum will be held in conjunction with the Consortium for School Networking (CoSN), International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE), and State Educational Technology Directors Association (SETDA) as a primer for Congressional Advocacy visits. More than 100 education leaders are expected to participate. The event follows the CoSN Annual Conference, being held earlier in the week in DC.
- Congressional Advocacy Visits: For those interested in participating, the morning Policy Summit will help prepare SIIA members for afternoon group meetings with key Congressional offices to advocate for federal education technology support. Groups will include CoSN, ISTE and SETDA member educators as well as SIIA members, and meetings will be pre-arranged for you.
- Reception: The 2010 Forum will once again include a networking reception, providing SIIA members with a casual setting to connect with DC-based education leaders, policy influencers and policy makers from a variety of national education organizations, including a dozen state ed tech directors.
