Why Attend?

Since the mid-1990s, the SIIA Ed Tech Government Forum (previously the DC Fly-In) has been the preeminent Washington, DC technology and publishing event. The Ed Tech Government Forum offers an excellent opportunity to meet with national and state education leaders and translate federal funding and regulations into actionable market intelligence!

Join your fellow senior executives from the leading publishers and developers of educational software, online curriculum, and educational technologies.

This year, we will also be joined by state and local education administrators brought to Washington, DC from around the country in partnership with CoSN, ISTE and SETDA and the joint Washington Ed Tech Policy Summit! SIIA members will meet for the first day+ alone, and then join with those education leaders.

With the nation doubling down on the Obama Administration, public policy support for the shift from print-to-digital, and key state iniativies all fundamentally shaping education practice, you won’t want to miss our 2013 Ed Tech Government Forum!

- Gain unique insights into new state, federal and national initiatives shaping the market
- Identify business opportunities and partners
- Network with colleagues and national education stakeholders
- Advocate for technology and industry interests before education policymakers

History

This SIIA conference originated as a one-day event for SIIA Education Division members to lobby the U.S. Congress and Administration to support education technology programs and funding. In recent years, the event has grown to include a full schedule of sessions aimed at providing a personal, hands-on forum to assist SIIA members in translating federal funding, initiatives, programs and regulations into actionable market intelligence.

Most industry executives attend the Forum to better understand the impact of federal programs and policies on their market, customers and business. Second is the opportunity to meet with policy makers (e.g., from the U.S. Congress and U.S. Department of Education), education leaders (i.e., from various educator associations and other national education organizations), and education policy influencers.

Benefits

- Only Washington, DC education policy/funding event targeted to unique needs of education publishers and technology providers
- Unique access to key education leaders and policy makers
- Hear from experts on how federal policies/programs are being implemented and what that means for market opportunities
- Connect with colleagues about critical education policies and industry trends
