Bryan Chan

Bryan Chan

Co-Head of the Equities and FIC Business, Global Markets Division, Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited

Mr Bryan Chan (“Mr Chan”), Co-head of the Equities, Fixed Income and Currency under the Global Markets Division of the HKEx since January 2013, is responsible for cash trading, derivatives trading, market data, product & index development, issuer & client services as well as the joint venture company, China Exchanges Services Company Limited (“CESC”). Mr Chan is currently a member of the Management Committee of the HKEx and is a director of the board of the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Futures Exchange, the HKEx Information Services Limited and Ganghui Financial Information Services (Shanghai) Limited, all are wholly owned subsidiaries of the HKEx Group. Since 26 September 2012, Mr Chan has been appointed as Chief Executive of CESC, a joint venture of HKEx, the Shanghai Stock Exchange and the Shenzhen Stock Exchange. Mr Chan joined the HKEx in 2000 and had previously worked as the head of HKEx’s Group Risk Management, Deputy Head of Clearing Division and Head of Market Data. He also led HKEx’s RMB Products Task Force between early 2011 and May 2013. Prior to joining HKEx, Mr Chan worked as an Administrative Officer for the Hong Kong Government for over 12 years. His government postings included the Trade Department, the Hong Kong Government’s delegation to the World Trade Organisation in Geneva, and the Financial Services Bureau. Mr Chan is currently serving as a director of the board of the Hong Kong Securities & Investment Institute, a member of its Professional Events Committee and Examinations Committee, a member of the Financial Services Advisory Committee of the Trade Development Council, a member of the Steering Committee for the Asia Financial Forum and a member of the Tracker Fund Supervisory Committee of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority. He was admitted as a Fellow Member of the Hong Kong Securities & Investment Institute in 2012. Mr Chan holds a Bachelor Degree in Engineering from the University of Hong Kong.

Magnus Cattan

Director - Business Development (Asia), Interactive Data Corporation

Magnus Cattan is business development director, Interactive Data (Asia). Based in Hong Kong, he is focused on sales development and strategy for fixed income and structured products, as well as Interactive Data’s pricing and reference data services in Asia.

From 1999, Mr Cattan worked with Interactive Data’s fixed income descriptive data team and in 2000 he was asked to set up an evaluations support team. From 2001 to 2004, Mr Cattan was manager of the European bond support team, working on several long-term projects including the implementation of evaluations for the European and Asian Lehman Indices, European asset-backed securities (ABS) and mortgage-backed securities (MBS).

From April 2005, Magnus Cattan was manager, Fixed Income and Derivatives, responsible for Interactive Data's valuation business in Europe. During this time he helped to build, promote and market several specialist offerings such as a risk and analytical datafeed, pre-payment sensitive European ABS and residential mortgage-backed securities (RMBS) evaluations, credit default swap valuations, interest rate swap valuations and, most recently, valuations for highly complex structured products.

Mr Cattan has also worked as a sales and marketing associate for Gartmore Asset Management's Institutional Fixed Income and Currency Overlay Funds.

Globally responsible for Market Data Services and low latency infrastructure at Standard Chartered Bank, Jeremy has 15 years of experience managing and engineering market data and order execution infrastructure. Current projects include delivering “Market Data as a Service”: an innovative approach to market data operations and associated costs transforming global management expenses into direct, on-demand pricing; “Data unbundling”, the uncoupling of data components from consolidated data vendors and efficient infrastructure re-engineering .

Previous roles have included Information Security audit, six years as a market data engineering Lead with Goldman Sachs Japan, regional market data management with Lehman Brothers Japan, Head of Prime Services and Electronic Trading infrastructure for Mizuho Securities, Japan.

Chris Johnson

Head of Product Management, Market Data Services, HSBC Securities Services

Chris joined HSBC Securities Services in August 2006 and is the Head of Product Management, Market Data Services. Chris was previously at Threadneedle Investments where he was Head of Investment Information Services. Before then he was a Director at UBS managing the business content aspects of their data management programme. Chris started work in the city with Laurie, Milbank stockbrokers, in their futures and options operations team, continuing with Chase Manhattan for a further ten years, culminating in three years as head of the equity derivatives middle office. He was also manager of OTC derivative client valuations at Bankers Trust. Chris is a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment
