Tom Davin is Managing Director, Financial Information Services Division (FISD) for the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA). FISD is the global, neutral forum for the financial information industry with a diverse membership that includes major market data vendors, exchanges, technology providers, and the financial institutions that utilize financial data products. Tom works closely with FISD members to identify major issues and seek opportunities to bring the financial information industry together to discuss and resolve those issues. FISD conducts regular membership events in North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia and hosts the biennial World Financial Information Conference – the premiere global industry conference for financial information professionals.

Steve joined MDSL in 2012 as the Americas Lead on the MDX Consulting Team. Steve has over 20 years’ experience in a wide range of market data management activities at Tier 1 investment banks and their asset management divisions, as well as at several vendor organizations. This experience on both sides of the negotiating table has honed his ability to provide spend reduction solutions and expert market data management guidance to consumer organizations. In 2011 Steve consulted at BNY Mellon, and was also a Co-Chair for the Consumer Constituency Group at FISD. From 2005 to early 2011, Steve was a Vice President on the Market Data Sourcing Team at Credit Suisse, primarily focused on negotiating reference data licensing agreements. While at Credit Suisse Steve later managed the global consolidation and centralization of all index licensing agreements, implemented structured index licensing negotiations, and provisioned Expense Management with index licensing spend metrics. Prior, Steve was a Vice President on Citigroup Asset Management’s Vendor Management Team, until CAM was acquired in August 2005. In early 2004 Steve consulted to the Vendor Management Team at Lehman Brothers. Prior, Steve was a Reference Data Licensing Analyst on the Vendor Management team at Morgan Stanley from 1997 through 2003, and previously was on the Fixed Income Trading Technology Team at CS First Boston. Prior to 1997 Steve assisted in business development at Tudor Software, and was a Senior Analyst on Data Support teams at Telekurs, Indepth Data, and Integrated Analytics (ITG). A graduate of New York University and residing in Manhattan, Steve enjoys travel, reading, music and alpine skiing.

Edmund (Ed) Flynn is a seasoned market data executive with over 24 years experience managing market data as a consumer at Fidelity Investments (1997-2010) and as a vendor at FT Interactive Data (1986-1995) and Moodys Investors Service (1995-1997). Additionally, Ed is active in thought leadership and policy influence related to common issues faced by participants in the market data industry, primarily through the FISD industry association and long standing global relationships. His experience base and perspectives form the foundation for the creation of The FLYNNDEX Company, dedicated to provide a service that supports the increased knowledge base and capabilities of both consumers and suppliers to optimize all aspects of their collective Market Data Services.

Mark Hepsworth is President of Interactive Data's Institutional Business. He is responsible for leading the strategy, product development and business management across groups that provide key institutionally-oriented products and services. These offerings include evaluations, reference data, and fixed income analytics.

Mr. Hepsworth became president of Interactive Data Pricing and Reference Data in September 2007 and was named president of Real-Time Services in October 2005. Hepsworth successfully directed the global expansion of Interactive Data’s real-time datafeed services business and oversaw the acquisition, integration and growth of the Interactive Data Managed Solutions business (formerly IS.Teledata AG).

His experience includes a decade as managing director for Interactive Data Real-Time Services (formerly known as ComStock) in Europe. Mr. Hepsworth joined ComStock in Europe as General Manager in 1995.

Robert is founder and President of The Roberts Group, a global market data consulting firm and provider of FITS, the Financial Information Tracking System, for inventory and cost management.

Robert has over 25 years of financial industry experience, primarily within the market data space (both technology and administration). A programmer by education, Robert performed trading systems development for FD Consulting before joining the UBS market data team. As a Market Data Manager, Head of Development, and active member of several industry trade groups, he has acquired a rare blend of business and technical expertise that has been the foundation for significant advancements in market data administration.

Tim Lind is Global Head of Strategy and Business Development, Enterprise Content at Thomson Reuters. In this role, he is responsible for driving the strategy to develop content solutions that power business applications from pre-trade analytics through to post-trade clearing and settlement.

Tim has over twenty years of domestic and international experience in the securities industry with a particular focus on the strategic deployment of technology to manage data, transaction processing, and risk management. His expertise comprises strategy and business development within the market data industry, post-trade operations, and the workflow processes between asset managers, broker/dealers, custodian banks, and market infrastructure providers.

Before joining Thomson Reuters, Tim was Managing Director at Omgeo, where he led global strategy and marketing for the firm. Prior to Omgeo, Tim held various positions, including Senior Vice President, product management and strategy at GoldenSource Corporation, Director of Securities and Investments Research at TowerGroup, and product management and strategy roles at SWIFT, Brown Brothers Harriman and Dean Witter Reynolds.

Nick joined FISD in May 2007 and works with members focused on anti-piracy of market data, data provider contract licenses and policies as well as communication among participants in the market data industry. In addition, he serves as the primary point of contact for the Data Vendor Constituent Group and the Index Forum Group. Prior to joining FISD Nick was employed with the American Bankers Association from 2002-2007 and with The NASDAQ Stock Market from 1987 – 2001 where he served as Senior Director Issuer Services. Nick holds a BA from The University of Mississippi and an MBA from The George Washington University.

Barry S. Raskin is President of SIX Financial USA Inc., the American subsidiary of Zurich-based SIX Telekurs Ltd, a premier supplier of global securities pricing, descriptive and corporate actions information on securities traded around the world.

Barry helped establish SIX Telekurs USA in 1987, serving as CFO and Secretary prior to his promotion to Managing Director in 1995. Under his stewardship, SIX Telekurs USA has focused on customers’ needs and improved data accessibility, resulting in significantly increased market penetration, revenue and profitability, as well as enhanced reputation for quality, reliability, and comprehensive global coverage. During his tenure, SIX Telekurs has answered the needs of the American markets and enhanced its position by developing products geared for local requirements. Among the many examples are low latency real-time data feed solutions, multiple formats for the company’s award winning global corporate actions and reference data and historical tick-by-tick data for best execution and/or algo trading. Like many of his fellow SIX Telekurs executives around the world, Barry is an active participant in industry forums and conferences, and is often called upon to speak on topics ranging from reference data to securities pricing to improvements in market data operations.

Born and raised in New York, Barry earned his undergraduate degree from Cornell, and an M.B.A. with honors from SUNY at Buffalo. He resides in Connecticut.

Jonathan Reeve is Executive Managing Director, S&P Enterprise Solutions. In this role he oversees a global team of over 4000 content experts delivering standard and customized suites of equity, debt and risk data and research from S&P Capital IQ to brokers, insurers, asset managers and academics around the world. These data sets include security and entity reference data; security terms and conditions and corporate actions; counterparty linkage and exposure data; corporate financial performance data; structured finance performance data; credit ratings, evaluated pricing for illiquid securities, and other proprietary analytics.

Prior to joining Standard & Poor’s, Jonathan was Senior Vice President for Reuters Global Data Operations. Jonathan was at Reuters for 9 years where he performed a series of roles including global head of equities data operations. In his nine years at Reuters Jonathan managed a number of large-scale transformation projects, both technical and operational. These included a technical integration from fragmented data architecture onto a single data platform with improved user tools and capabilities. Also the integration of several operational data groups in Asia, Europe and the Americas realized through acquisition into a unified data management structure as well as a large operational migration to India.

Jonathan is based in New York and holds a BA in Economics from Concordia University in Montreal.

Bill Ruvo, Head of Elektron Hosting, Enterprise Solutions, Thomson Reuters.
In his role, he is responsible for overall strategy and execution of hosting solutions which provide high-performance infrastructure and applications to support trading operations and high-quality global content to drive investment decisions. Bill has over 20 years experience in the financial services industry.

Prior to his current role, Bill ran the real-time feeds business in North America. Before joining Reuters, Bill was Vice President of Business Development at Interactive Data Corporation where he was responsible for their real-time non-organic growth strategy with a specific emphasis on direct exchange initiatives. During his tenure with Interactive Data, Bill also held the position of Vice President of Strategic Account Sales.

Before Interactive Data, Bill held several senior positions with the financial services sector such as Vice President of Sales for MoneyLine Telerate and sales management positions with Bang Networks, 4Cast, and Dow Jones Telerate. Bill began his career with Prudential Financial in its institutional asset management organization.

Since 1994, Clearnet has provided market data professionals with this authoritative tool for managing technical notifications from exchanges and trading services around the world. The Calendar is used by firms maintaining systems that depend on market data feeds. Subscribers include market data vendors, financial houses, ISVs, and trading services including exchanges, ECNs, ATSs, and MTFs.
Craig’s career has tracked the remarkable growth and applications of electronic market data over the last 30+ years. He has partici¬pated in the industry both as a quote vendor executive, an industry researcher and strategist, and as the founder of the Clearnet Calendar.
Craig’s board experience has ranged from non-profit volunteer organizations to a school board and to a publicly held company, NYFIX Inc. (now owned by NYSE Technologies).
Craig is a graduate of Cornell University (B.S., College of Engineering) and the Sloan School of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.S., Management).

 

Brandon Tepper

Mr. Brandon Tepper is senior managing director for NASDAQ OMX Global Data Products. Leveraging more than 14 years of financial industry experience, he serves as U.S. manager for the global market data business, responsible for sales strategy and account growth for an extensive portfolio of data products spanning many asset classes and markets. He also acts as a relationship manager for clients primarily in the New York and California regions. Previously, Mr. Tepper was a director for the NASDAQ Market Intelligence Desk (MID), providing timely trading analysis and market information for companies listed on The NASDAQ Stock Market. As part of the inaugural MID team, he led all technical aspects including software development, telephony, data support, and third party vendor relationships. Mr. Tepper began his career with NASDAQ OMX as the business operations manager for NASDAQ Online (NOL). Under his direction, NOL was rated #1 Investor Relations Website by the National Investor Relations Institute. Mr. Tepper graduated from University of Maryland.
