Peter Crosby

Pete joined Viadeo in 2008 as Director of the UK and Irish subsidiaries. He is now COO for Europe and is responsible for European business development, sales & marketing. Prior to Viadeo Peter worked for online publishers & software specialists, j4b.

With a background in sales he conceived & grew j4b’s advertising, software & white label businesses. In 2006 he relocated to the States & built j4b’s US business in Boston.

Rob Grimshaw was appointed Managing Director of FT.com in June 2008. As the FT board representative for FT.com he is responsible for website’s commercial performance and overall strategy. Prior to this, Grimshaw was a member of the FT.com Executive leadership team and was Advertising Strategy and Global Online Director.

Grimshaw joined the Financial Times in 1998 and has held a series of commercial roles within the business, including Head of Global Key Accounts & Clients Sales and Head of Global Advertising Strategy & Operations.

Grimshaw holds a Bachelors degree in Philosophy and Politics from the University of Warwick.

Colette Ballou Lamotte

Colette has over 16 years of public relations experience in both agency and corporate environments in a number of different sectors, across a range of industries, including digital entertainment and media, telecommunications, managed service providers, price optimization and demand management, business process management, product lifecycle management and robotics, as well as mobile entertainment and services. In addition, Colette has specific expertise counseling European venture capital firms, global media organizations, and biotechnology companies.



Before establishing Ballou Public Relations, Colette was a vice president at Edelman Public Relations Worldwide’s Enterprise Software and Service group in both the San Francisco and Silicon Valley offices, where she developed public relations strategies and led teams in the execution of domestic and international public relations programs.



Colette is an active part of the European start-up community: she is a speaker and moderator at industry events including Techcrunch, Microsoft/General Electric Software Academy and the Plugg conference in Brussels. Colette is also a mentor and judge for start-up organizations ranging from Seedcamp and the GuideWire Group’s Innovate! Europe conference to the Sun Start-Up Academy.



Colette has a master’s degree in Ethics/Philosophy from Union Theological Seminary, where she wrote her thesis, Ethics in Public Relations. She has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and religious studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Ruediger Baumberger is head of the department of content and business development at APA-DeFacto where he is responsible for relations to (content) partners, the production of newspaper databases, the transcription of radio and television broadcasts and the development of innovative tools for editing, handling, representing and searching of content.
Before he joined APA Austria Press Agency in 1996 he was time active as a cabaret artist and participated regularly in archaeological excavations. He is co-founder of PDLN Press Database and Licensing Network.

 

David Bousfield

In his capacity as Vice President & Lead Analyst, David Bousfield is responsible for analysis and advisory services focused on the Scientific, Technical & Medical (STM) information sector, including journal, book and database publishing, relevant areas of informatics such as text mining, semantic web, social media tools, and specialized workflow applications such as clinical decision support. He serves as an executive-level advisor and consultant to clients on issues such as electronic publishing and best practices; open access; changing consumer needs; and customer, buyer, and advertiser dynamics in the STM market. He also reports on industry financial performance and benchmarks.

When he's not working on VIP, Tim has a regular column about government information matters in Information World Review and writes features for Library & Information Gazette. He's also a trainer, running courses on enquiry handling, abstracting & summarising, information packaging & presentation and information management.

Ed Colleran serves as the Senior Director of International Relations at Copyright Clearance Center (CCC), the world's largest provider of copyright licensing solutions. He oversees strategic initiatives focused on CCC’s international activities—specifically, providing publishers around the world with new content licensing solutions and revenue-generating initiatives based on CCC’s products and services. Ed also provides the vision for the advancement of CCC’s digital rights management services and is a key contributor on other long-term strategic issues facing the information industry.
An industry veteran, Ed serves on several committees of the International Federation of Reproduction Rights Organizations (IFFRO) and and currently serves on American Business Media’s policy and digital media councils. Ed was also a two-term member of the board of the Software and Information Industry Association (SIIA). He is a featured speaker and editorial contributor on issues such as navigating copyright requirements and the challenges and opportunities of managing content in a digital environment. A regular speaker at industry events, Ed has recently presented at the annual conferences of SSP, O’Reilly Media and SIIA as well as London Online.
A ten-year veteran at CCC, Ed has 25 years of experience in the communications and information industries. Before joining CCC, he served as vice president and managing director of Larry Miller Productions (now iXL, Inc.), a marketing communications firm.

Randall Marcinko is the CEO of MEI (fka Marcinko Enterprises, Inc.), a California-based information consultancy that he founded in 1996. MEI assists publishers with the monetization of their digital assets, providing professional services in content licensing, sales and distribution. Skilled negotiators design and establish content licensing strategies and execute deals on behalf of primary and secondary publishers with aggregators, syndicators and redistributors within the information industry. In 2002 and 2003, Marcinko joined Nstein Technologies as its President and COO. Nstein focused on innovative content management software solutions based on linguistic artificial intelligence. In 2008 and 2009, Marcinko joined Groxis, Inc. as its CEO. Groxis focused on solutions for the dynamic clustering of search results and information discovery. Randy is a participant in various industry organizations. He is on the Board of Directors of the SIIA, was on the ASIDIC board and is a member of the SLA. He is a frequent speaker at information industry conferences and events.

Alexandre (Alex) Montagu is a founding Partner of MontaguLaw, P.C., a law firm that focuses primarily on intellectual property law, international commercial transactions; new media commercial and corporate law on behalf of clients ranging from startup enterprises to Fortune 500 companies in a variety of industries such as financial services, publishing and cosmetics. Mr. Montagu also serves as outside General Counsel to a number of companies. In this capacity, Mr. Montagu handles all aspects of his clients’ legal affairs including managing litigation, drafting and negotiating agreements and consolidating and managing over 15,000 trademarks and domain names worldwide. In addition, Mr. Montagu has been an arbitrator on a number of cases before the International Chamber of Commerce. He is frequently a guest speaker at international business and legal conferences on various intellectual property issues. Prior to establishing MontaguLaw, Mr. Montagu was an associate at Sullivan & Cromwell, LLP in New York. Mr. Montagu received his J.D., with honors, from Harvard Law School and his undergraduate degree from Princeton University, graduating summa cum laude. He also has a B.A. and M.A. in Law from the University of Cambridge in England where he received Double First Class Honours.

Wasch's involvement in SIIA is based on both personal and professional interests. His long-standing interest in computers and software, coupled with the industry's need for a central trade association, led him to establish the Software Publishers Association (SPA) in 1984 with an initial group of 25 software firms. Wasch has led the association from its infancy to its merger with the Information Industry Association in January 1999, resulting in the formation of SIIA.
