John Blossom

Nick Brien

Mr. Brien, 43, comes to Interpublic after a long career at Publicis Groupe's Leo Burnett and Starcom, where he played key roles in shaping and leading those companies' media, advertising and integrated marketing offerings. Brien will be based in New York and will report to Mark Rosenthal, the recently-appointed Chairman and CEO of Interpublic's media operations. Bill Burger

Bill Burger is vice president of marketing at Copyright Clearance Center, the world's leading provider of content licensing solutions for corporations, colleges and universities. Bill's first career was journalism. He spent 14 years as an editor, writer and foreign correspondent at Newsweek, where he focused on business, economics and international affairs while working in New York, London and Tokyo. As the magazine's European economics editor in the early '90s, he became interested in the convergence of information and technology and the emergence of new economic models and distribution channels. So in 1995 he began his second career, in the information industry, first at AT&T and then as vice president of content and media services at Infonautics, the pioneering company that introduced the eLibrary research service into the K-12 and consumer markets. Over the years he has helped several companies launch new services for the consumer and business markets. He joined Copyright Clearance Center in 2005 and leads the company's product marketing and marketing communications teams.

Jason Calacanis is a blogger and internet entrepreneur. He is the founder of Weblogs, Inc., which has been one of the most visible attempts to turn blogging into a viable advertising-based business model. Calacanis was the founder of Silicon Alley Reporter and Digital Coast Reporter magazines. SAR, as it was referred to, grew from a photocopied newsletter to a 300 page glossy magazine with a staff of 70 employees. In this position, Mr. Rosenthal oversees all of Interpublic’s worldwide media operations, including Initiative, MAGNA Global, Universal and a number of leading specialist media agencies, with capabilities that range from programming and content development to interactive, retail and media barter. He works directly with Interpublic Chairman and CEO, Michael Roth, to refine and implement a strategy that aligns all of Interpublic’s media assets and maximizes the benefits they deliver to clients. For nearly a decade, as President and Chief Operating Officer of MTV Networks, Mr. Rosenthal was a leader in growing and extending the reach of that company’s world-class media brands, both geographically and into areas such as films, books, consumer products and the Internet. During his tenure, revenue and earnings from the company’s operations more than tripled as MTV Networks’ 96 television channels grew to reach 400 million households in 164 countries around the world. Additionally, Mr. Rosenthal led the restructuring of one of the industry’s largest advertising sales groups. In the process, he developed deep relationships with senior decision-makers within the advertising community. He also helped lead the execution and integration of acquisitions that added brands such as Comedy Central, VIVA, The Nashville Network (now Spike TV), College Television Network (now mtvU), Country Music Television, and Noggin to the MTV Networks franchise.

David Worlock
