Tom Aley 
SVP and Managing Director, Dow Jones BRI
Tom Aley is currently the SVP and Managing Director of Dow Jones’ Business and Relationship Intelligence group. This group works within the Enterprise Media Group at Dow Jones and combines the solutions from Dow Jones SalesWorks and the recently acquired Generate Inc. targeted at the enterprise sales and media segments. Tom joined Dow Jones when it acquired a company he co-founded, Generate Inc., where as President and CEO he was responsible for the company’s vision and strategic direction, management and technology development. With over 20 years experience in the information, software, and media industries, Tom has a proven track record of driving sales and building and investing in successful companies. Prior to founding Generate, Tom was a Partner at Reed Elsevier Ventures, the venture arm of the $8 billion media company where he co-led investments. Earlier, Tom was executive vice president at Stonepath Group, a VC firm, where he co-led the company’s initial public offering. Previous to Stonepath, Tom co-founded OneZero Media and served as executive vice president of sales. Prior to OneZero, Tom was a founding director at ZDNet, where he launched and managed the company’s e-commerce business unit, Computershopper.com. Prior to ZDNet, Tom headed eastern regional sales at Shiva Corporation. Tom serves on the board of the Software & Information Industry Associations’s (SIIA) Content Division. Kate has extensive SEC experience and is also experienced in advising clients on accounting and reporting matters as well as a variety of business topics including acquisition and divestiture transactions, risk management and process improvement. JOEL DREYFUSS is a journalist and news executive with more than 30 years experience at major media companies. He is currently the editor-in-chief of Red Herring, a magazine and web site that cover the high-tech industry and venture capital markets. He is a former editor-in-chief of the technology weekly, Information Week, the former editor of PC Magazine, and was executive Editor of Black Enterprise from 1980-82. He was an associate editor at Fortune and the magazine’s Tokyo Bureau Chief, before returning years later as a senior editor and columnist. He was involved in the effort to launch Our World News, a national black weekly newspaper, and is one of the founders of the National Association of Black Journalists. He is co-author, with Charles Lawrence III, of “The Bakke Case: The Politics of Inequality.” He has been a reporter or editor at the Associated Press, the New York Post, Washington Post, USA Today, and Bloomberg. His freelance articles and essays appear in many national publications, including Essence, Emerge, the New York Times, Salon.com, The Progressive, and Tikkun. During the dot-com boom, he was editor-in-chief of Urban Box Office. Mr. Dreyfuss was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti and spent much of his childhood in Africa, Europe and the U.S. He attended the High School of Commerce in New York City and earned his B.S. degree at the City College of the City University of New York. He was an Urban Journalism Fellow at the University of Chicago and has lived in Port-au-Prince, San Francisco, Chicago, and Washington, DC, Paris and Tokyo.

As head of derivatives businesses at both Citibank and Deutsche Bank, Roger’s teams twice won awards, securing Global Finance magazine’s “Interest Rate Deal of the Year” in 1998 and Institutional Investor magazine’s “Equity Derivative Deal of the Year” in 2000.

Edward G. Reitler was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1965. After a clerkship with the Hon. J. Edward Lumbard (United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit), he joined Cravath, Swaine & Moore as a corporate associate in 1991. He joined RB&R in 1998 as a member.
Ed handles a wide variety of corporate matters including private equity, venture capital, mergers & acquisitions, capital markets and joint ventures transactions. While at the firm, Ed has represented dozens of merchant banks and buy out and venture funds and their portfolio companies in these matters including UBS, PaineWebber, American Securities, Wexford Capital, Lightyear Capital, Edison Ventures, Spark Capital, Milestone Ventures, Greenhill SAVP, New Spring Capital, Osage Venture Partners, SJF Ventures, Innovation Ventures, Cammeby's Capital, SAS Investors, Hudson Ventures, Walden Capital, Libertyview Capital, Ovation Capital, Carrot Capital, GlobalNet Management, Zon Capital, and Himalaya Capital. Larry Schwartz is a co-founder of Newstex and President of the company. Larry has guided numerous entertainment and new media ventures, from start-up through growth, development and maturity, including Bolenka Games Online (Trivial Pursuit Online), GFI Group (Nasdaq:GFIG - financial), Wizard World (publishing), Patron Technology (technology) and Tickets.com (Purchased by MLB.com). Larry attended Bates College and the Yale University Graduate School of Drama. He serves on the Content Board of Directors for the Software Information Industry Association, and is a frequent speaker on content, product development, start-ups and turnarounds.
