Overview:

The Content Industry Regulation and Policy Working Group focuses on ways to support the policy and regulatory activity that is being done in the SIIA public affairs and anti-piracy groups so that non-policy professionals can understand the business impact of proposed rules and regulations and how they will impact their organizations and business models. The group meets by phone on an as needed basis, currently supporting quarterly policy briefings for the Division membership.

Mission:

  • Networking and professional development of those participating in the Working Group.
  • Identifies key issues and trends of interest to the membership related to policy and anti-piracy
  • Educate professionals in the information industry about business and strategic issues related to policy and anti-piracy.

Meeting Format:

Meetings are generally held on an Ad Hoc basis. Each meeting is by phone (although if there is an opportunity to have a meet-up at a conference, we do so) with a goal to go through the agenda in about 45 minutes. The meetings agendas are focused on:

  • Networking
  • Discussing common issues of the SIIA member professionals in the group
  • Coordinating upcoming programs the group is working on behalf of the membership
