Marketing Manager
Position: Marketing Manager
Reports to: Director, Events & Conferences
The Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA), the nation’s principal trade association representing the software and content industries, seeks an enthusiastic and ambitious person to join our marketing department in the position of Marketing Manager.
This individual will manage marketing plan and communications for conferences, programs, membership, and events across the entire association. Primary responsibilities include identifying major areas of opportunity, developing and executing marketing plans, and measuring and analyzing marketing activities with appropriate tools. Qualified applicants will possess polished and articulate communication skills, the ability to prioritize multiple concurrent tasks and meet tight deadlines, be extremely detail oriented and have related marketing experience. The ideal candidate will have prior experience with targeted marketing efforts preferably in the area of conference and event marketing for the software or content industries and/or trade association. Must be able to create a marketing plan.
Job duties and responsibilities include:
- Create, implement, and manage marketing plan
- Assist Divisions with key messaging and marketing copy writing for all conferences, events, and programs (website, email, direct mail, flyers, and advertisements)
- Work with Marketing Manager to distribute emails and coordinate distribution of other items mentioned above
- Work with VP, Membership in marketing membership initiatives
- Ensure adherence to SIIA branding and style guide across organization
- Coordinate and distribute marketing collateral for sponsors, speakers, steering committee members (customized email templates, banner ads, button ads)
- Develop internal communication method for distribution of marketing plan to divisions
- Expand and continue key online and offline event calendar listings (work with division teams and conduct individual research)
- Expand SIIA promotion capabilities
- Identify and negotiate lists available for rent, barter or other arrangement to grow SIIA’s database for all divisions
- Generate and disseminate marketing reports
- Other tasks as assigned
Minimum Requirements
• Demonstrated flexibility to manage multiple tasks, solve problems and schedule work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment; pay attention to detail and function well in a team setting.
• Possess a combination of excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Data-analytics proficiency and basic understanding of the business market of the software, information and education technology and or financial data industries
Experience: Bachelor's degree in Marketing (or related area) or equivalent experience with a development and administration, ideally in conference or event marketing for the software or content industries and/or trade association. Five plus years marketing experience, ideally in conference or event marketing for the software or content industries and/or trade associations; strong level of computer literacy. Marketing automation software and project management experience a plus.
