Symposium on [Re]Design for Personalized Learning: Debrief Conference Call For SIIA Members
In August of 2010, SIIA partnered with ASCD and the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) to gather key education stakeholders from schools, nonprofits, federal and local government, and the ed tech vendor community for Innovate to Educate: A Symposium on [Re]Design for Personalized Learning. This unique two-day meeting focused on the policies, practices and technologies needed to enable redesign of our education system from an industrial-age, assembly-line model - based on fixed time, place and pace - to one that is student-centered to meet each student's personalized learning needs.
Participants in this discussion:
- heard first hand from SIIA members who were there, what was discussed and what some possible next steps are.
- provided their ideas for initiatives that SIIA should undertake in the next year.
Primary discussants included:
- Sue Adelman, Director, Partnerships & Business Development, Follett Corporation
- Art Bardidge, President, Enablearning, Inc.
- Todd Brekhus, President, Digital Solutions, Capstone Digital
- And other members who attended
