Led by Achieve and the Florida DOE, backed by $185+ million in federal funds, and joined by 25 states, the PARCC initiative aims to create a largely computer-based assessment system and supporting tools that will help states dramatically increase the number of students who graduate high school ready for college and careers and provide students, parents, teachers and policymakers with the tools they need to help students - from grade three through high school - stay on track to graduate prepared. The Partnership will also develop formative tools.
During this webcast, initiative director Laura McGiffert Slover will outline PARCC's goals, deliverables and timeline, and will then engage in a discussion with SIIA members on the impact of PARCC's work on the market for instructional, assessment and other educational technologies. As background, SIIA members are encouraged to review both SIIA's related blog and federal comments, as well as PARCC resources.
Presenter: Laura McGiffert Slover, Senior Vice President, Achieve
