Common Core State Standards: Curriculum Alignment & Review Criteria
SIIA Webinar
April 13, 2012

State and district K-12 educational agencies are accelerating their adoption of the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) in English language arts and mathematics in anticipation of the 2014 implementation of the related SBAC and PARCC assessments. In response, developers of curricular resources and services are working overtime to understand and address the new standards through new content, assessments, online learning and related professional development and other technologies. This SIIA members-only webinar will help answer the following questions: What do CCSS aligned curricular resources/materials look like? What are the criteria, rubrics, resources and processes being used? What is the role of assessment (e.g., SBAC and PARCC) in helping to define CCSS alignment? How will varied state and local standards interpretations impact the implementation? We will be joined by Nick Wilkinson, Technical Director, Student Achievement Partners. This webinar is an update of SIIA's October 2011 CCSS webinar with David Coleman, co-author of the Common Core State Standards and Founder of Student Achievement Partners, LLC.
