OVERVIEW:
For busy, geographically dispersed people, online events are an easy way to learn new ideas. And more and more publishers are testing them alongside traditional live formats.
But how can they add value to your business? Should you charge a fee, make it subscribers only, or sell sponsorship? And what formats are working well now – is the day of the powerpoint and audio webinar over? Plus how do you manage the technical issues and what is the best way to market?
If you are contemplating running more online events, you’re sure to pick up some new ideas and practical tips from the expert speakers at the next SIIA UK Issue Brief on Wednesday 2 October in London
PRESENTERS:
Victoria Mellor, CEO of Melcrum, will share what they have learnt from running several different formats of online events, applying a range of business models, from sponsor-led promotional webinars to in-depth paid-for training courses, and more recently member-only best practice sessions. Victoria will also provide tips on managing technical issues, and catering to an international audience.
Jonathan Dewe, Consultant to the The Economist and former Marketing Director, Thought Leadership and Events, will share some of the innovative online event formats used by the Economist, and explain how they engaged an audience and delivered sponsors' objectives. Plus he'll discuss how to combine live and online events to maximise their impact, and how to extend the lifecycle of online events.
In this small group event, attendees will have plenty of opportunities to question speakers closely and share their own experiences – plus network with like-minded publishers. The Webinars and Online Events Issue Brief takes place 9-11am on Wednesday 2 October, at Press Association offices, Victoria, London.
