California Watch burst out of the gates last year and now its more than a dozen journalists are placing their statewide-oriented work in media large and small. Now joining it is Bay Citizen, launching in late May, a site aiming to fill the gap caused by cratering daily newspapers in the region. Newsonomics author Ken Doctor talks with California Watch founder Robert Rosenthal, former editor of the Philadelphia Inquirer, and with Jonathan Weber, Bay Citizens editor and a veteran of the Industry Standard, NewWest.net and the L.A. Times. We look at how the news and the business of news is changing from the bottom up.
