FIA Training

How candidates choose to prepare for the FISD Financial Information Associate certification exam is entirely at their own discretion.

Candidates who believe they have enough knowledge based on existing experience may elect to take the exam without any further training or education. However, in most cases candidates will require education on some or all sections of the syllabus. FISD has invited a number of trusted training organizations to create study materials and courses based on the syllabus. These third party groups can arm candidates with the knowledge needed to pass the exam.  All trainers are independent of FISD.

Online Learning Resources

For candidates and organizations who find classroom training impractical, uneconomic, or just unsuited to their learning style FISD suggests eLearning.

Currently available from from Learning Modules is set of video-based online-delivered eLearning units that can be viewed at a time and place convenient to the candidate.

Classroom-based Training Courses

Public courses are open to all candidates and are normally held at convenient locations within major cities such as London and New York. Courses vary in length and can range from a single day, for an overview, to more detailed sessions lasting 3 or 4 days. Prices are normally chargeable per candidate per day.  Customized private courses are typically run internally within a member firm’s premises and with candidates from only that member firm attending. For firms with a reasonable number of candidates (e.g. more than 7 or 8) this option may be most cost-effective as prices are negotiated directly with a trainer and are per course not per candidate. Firms wishing to organize this type of training should expect to cover the travel and accommodation costs of the trainer and a negotiated day rate for the actual training. In addition they should provide classroom space for the training.

The following trainers are available for bespoke training assignments. Please note that in most cases these trainers are happy to travel. It should also be noted that a US-based trainer is not necessarily the lowest cost for US training and similarly a Europe-based trainer may not offer the cheapest deal in Europe.
