Jerome Armstrong
Bob Bennett President and CEO, FSA of San Francisco Family Service Agency (FSA) of San Francisco, the city’s oldest nonsectarian, nonprofit social-services provider, developed a HIPAA compliant system to help program managers and clinicians manage data on 12,000 clients across 24 major programs, each with different data collection and reporting needs. With Salesforce, FSA made the leap from an entirely manual system to a state-of-the-art, enterprise-wide electronic client record. In the process, FSA transformed itself (not without difficulty) into a data-rich, outcome oriented organization that serves all its clients more effectively and more efficiently. Daniel F. Senior Vice President, Global Public Policy, Salesforce.com Offi ce of the Army Chief Marketing Offi cer (CMO) Daniel Burton is Senior Vice President, Global Public Policy for salesforce.com, and has played a leadership role in the development of US technology policy for over twenty years. Prior to joining salesforce.com in January 2006, he was Vice President of Government Affairs for Entrust (2000-2005) and Vice President for Government Relations for Novell (1995-2000). Previously, he was President of the Council on Competitiveness where he was a pioneer in the effort to establish government technology policies for the US high-tech industry. Before joining the Council, Mr. Burton was the Executive Director of the Economic Policy Council of the United Nations Association-USA. He has also served as a Fellow in the US-Japan Leadership program and done economic development work in West Africa. Mr. Burton has testified several times before Congress and has lectured widely in the US, Europe, Asia and Latin America. He holds an MA in political economy from Columbia University, a BA from the University of Pennsylvania and a Diplome de Langue et Civilisation Francaises from the Sorbonne. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, a member of the board of the Software and Information Industry Association (SIIA), and a member of the board of the Washington Project for the Arts. Mr. Burton has edited three books, including Vision for the 1990s: US Strategy and the Global Economy, and written numerous articles on technology policy and competitiveness, which have appeared in Foreign Affairs, Foreign Policy, The New York Times, The Washington Quarterly, Scientific American and Issues in Science and Technology. Program Manager, Army Experience Center Offi ce of the Army Chief Marketing Offi cer (CMO) Major Larry Dillard is a career Army officer serving in the Offi ce of the Chief Marketing Offi cer. He has managed the Army Experience Pilot Program since initial concept development in August 2007. He has previously served in operational assignments as a Corps of Engineers Offi cer at company, battalion and brigade levels. Prior to his current assignment, Major Dillard deployed to Iraq with the 130TH Engineer Brigade, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, from September 2005 through September 2006. His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal (with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters), the Army Commendation Medal (with Oak Leaf Cluster), the Ranger Tab, the Parachutist Badge and the Air Assault Badge. He is married to the former Heidi Strubbe and they have two children, Katie (12) and Thomas (10). Steve Maier
Steve Maier, General Manager, Government Systems Division, SpringCM Steve Maier is the General Manager of the Government Systems Division at SpringCM. He brings extensive and unparalleled government contractor expertise to SpringCM. Prior to heading the SpringCM Government Solutions Division, Steve served as VP of Strategic Partner Development for Novell where he focused on developing business relationships with top-tier consulting and systems integration organizations. Steve previously worked at Pearson Government Solutions as VP for Homeland Security. In this position, Steve oversaw the Transportation and Safety Administration (TSA) recruiting program. Before joining Pearson, he held senior management positions with several leading technology companies including US Internetworking and Sybase. Steve holds a BS in computer and information science from the University of Michigan and an MS in computer science from Johns Hopkins University.
Morris Panner is CEO of OpenAir, Inc., an on-demand enterprise software company and independent subsidiary of NetSuite Inc (NYSE: N). During his tenure, OpenAir has received numerous honors and distinctions, including being named the "Best Business Software Solution" at the 2008 SIIA CODiE awards, the Deloitte & Touche Fast 500 in 2005 and 2007, as well as one of the Fastest Growing Private Companies in Boston in 2006 and 2007. Morris is co-Chairperson of the Board of the Software Division of the Software and Information Industry Association, and on the Board of the Washington Office on Latin America, a social justice advocacy organization. A graduate of Yale and Harvard Law, Morris speaks and writes widely on technology and entrepreneurship and has been featured in Fortune, BusinessWeek and The New York Times.
Kevin Plexico is Senior Vice President, Operations at INPUT where he manages the delivery of INPUT’s information products providing essential industry information and insights to over 1,500 member companies. Mr. Plexico has responsibility for leading the industry’s largest team of analysts focused on the public sector market.
Stephen Schmidt
Prior to joining AWS, Mr. Schmidt had an extensive career at the Federal Bureau of Investigation, where he served as a senior executive. His responsibilities at the FBI included a term as acting Chief Technology Officer, Section Chief responsible for the FBI’s technical collection and analysis platforms, and as a Section Chief overseeing the FBI’s Cyber Division components responsible for the technical analysis of computer and network intrusion activities. His Cyber Division oversight included areas of malicious code analysis, computer exploitation tool reverse-engineering, and the who/what/when/where/how technical analysis of computer intrusions. Mr. Schmidt has an undergraduate degree in Economics and Computer Science, and a Juris Doctorate. He is admitted to practice law in Illinois and Federal Courts.
Robert Spector
Mr. Spector has over 20 years of experience specializing in organizational solutions that integrate processes, people, and information technology to improve business performance. Most recently, at the Department of Health and Human Services, Spector established the Office of Business Process improvement in the Program Support Center (PSC). The PSC is a fee-for-service center with $800 million in revenue serving HHS and other Federal Agencies with offerings ranging from procurement support to occupational health services for Federal employees. Mr. Spector’s office is currently managing several major projects including a customer relations management pilot program designed to grow the PSC customer base helping it to achieve greater economies of scale resulting in reduced costs to taxpayers. In October 2005 Spector stood up a multi-channel contact center solution (1-888-ONE-DHHS) to support some of the largest programs in the Federal Government from the “President’s Management Agenda.” These program initiatives range from the conversion of the Department’s 70,000 paper personnel files into electronic documents to “Grants.gov” which helps citizens find and apply for over $400 billion in Federal grants. Since he implemented “1-888-ONE-DHHS” contact center it has handled approximately 500,000 service requests from employees and citizens. Today ONE-DHHS serves over 25,000 calls and emails each month. Since they started tracking customer satisfaction in 2006, 80% of over 10,000 respondents reported that they were “very satisfied” with their ONE-DHHS experience. Prior to HHS, Spector was a Director in Oracle’s E-Business Solution Strategy Group where he developed Oracle’s “Business Flow Accelerator” offerings for CRM. As a management consultant for “Big-4” and other top-tier consulting firms Mr. Spector advised a number of fortune 500 clients on issues ranging from Ecommerce for professional services to effectively managing their capacity for change. Mr. spector served as a member of the Board of Examiners of the Baldrige National Quality Award from 1995-1998. He earned a B.S. in Social Relations and Economics from Carnegie-Mellon University and attended the Graduate School of Public Health at the University of Pittsburgh.
Shally Stanley, Managing Director, Global Services, Acumen Solutions
Chris Willey is Deputy Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Infrastructure Services for the Government of the District of Columbia. He is responsible for all aspects of DC's Information Technology (IT) infrastructure consisting of servers, mainframe, networks and data center facilities including DC's $50 million data center relocation project. Additionally, Willey oversees the District's public Wi-Fi initiative, projected to offer 250 free hotspots in fiscal year 2009; and DC One Card, a credentialing initiative that will consolidate all identification and service cards in the District. As Deputy CTO, he directs a diverse staff of over 200 that provide infrastructure and other services in support of 68 DC government agencies and departments. Willey brings to the role of Deputy CTO more than 17 years of IT experience in senior management and web development. Prior to joining the District, Willey served as the CTO for the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments for four years. In this capacity, he developed the organization's first IT strategy plan and aided Chief Information Officers around the National Capital Region to envision and implement regional technology solutions, such as deploying wireless broadband and fiber-based networks for emergency communications. Previously, he was the CTO for One Economy, where he was responsible for the IT budget, policies and all organizational and partner websites.
