Vlad Eidelman

VP of Research, FiscalNote

Vlad currently leads the AI Research team at FiscalNote, focusing on using machine learning and natural language processing (NLP) to create practical applications for analyzing, modeling, and extracting knowledge from the growing amount of mostly unstructured data related to government, policy and law. He created the first version of the company’s patented technology to help organizations understand and act on policy changes. He has more than a decade of experience developing state-of-the-art machine learning algorithms for a broad range of NLP applications including entity extraction, structured prediction, machine translation, text classification, and information retrieval. His work has led to 10 patent applications, he has published more than 20 peer-reviewed papers in and serves on the program committees for top-tier conferences, such as ACL, NAACL, and EMNLP, and has been covered by media such as Wired, Vice News, and Washington Post. His research awards include the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship and the National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate Fellowship, and he has conducted research in academia (Columbia University, Johns Hopkins University, University of Maryland), industry (Raytheon, BBN Technologies, JHU Applied Physics Laboratory), and government. Vlad completed his Ph.D. in Computer Science with Philip Resnik at the University of Maryland, and his B.S. in Computer Science and Philosophy at Columbia University.

Danica Stanciu

Danica Stanciu is the Vice President of Pro Sales. Danica was previously the Managing Director of Account Management at POLITICO Pro. In this capacity, she leads the team of account managers responsible for serving, renewing and growing our existing client base. She is a midwestern transplant to New York City, and is an avid hiker, homebrewer, and musician.

John Barratt

John Barrat is the founder and CEO of the Oil & Gas Innovation Center based in Palo Alto, California. The Oil & Gas Innovation Center is a specialized technology scouting service that identifies and showcases promising technologies from other industries having crossover applicability in the petroleum industry. Mr. Barratt founded the company in 2007 and, in the years since, the Oil & Gas Innovation Center has showcased over 425 worldwide technologies. Nancy Brand

Managing Director, SIPA

Nancy is responsible for the strategy and day-to-day operations for the Specialized Information Publishers Association (SIPA), which is the leading provider of best practices sharing, training and peer networking for publishers and information providers. Previously, Nancy was the senior director of operations at Chartwell, where she managed marketing, IT, account management, training and sales to support the company’s evolving business strategy. She has overseen the transition from software to cloud-based solutions as well as developed multiple websites. Nancy previously served on SIPA's Board of Directors and has presented at various industry conferences. Nancy graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology and earned her MBA focusing on data analysis and marketing from Georgia State University.

Richard Butterworth

Sales & Marketing Director, Chemical Watch (CW Research Ltd)

Richard has spent the last 7 years with CW Research Ltd., leading providers of intelligence to transform product safety, and is responsible for sales, marketing and product development activities. He led the company's recent transformation project (featured in SIPAlert, 26 March) building out the company's offering in response to customer needs/opportunities, launching a new content platform and brand identity, positioning the new offering further up the value chain (corporate membership, over subscriptions), and migrating existing customers. In his spare time, Richard puts out fires - literally.

Sharon Cappucci

Brian Cuthbert

Allie DeNicuolo

Sara DePaul

Senior Director, Technology Policy, SIIA

Sara DePaul is SIIA’s Senior Director for Technology Policy, where she directs technology and privacy policy initiatives to promote innovation and responsible data practices. Previously, Sara was an attorney with the Federal Trade Commission’s (FTC) Office of International Affairs. In that role, she worked on a broad range of policy, enforcement, and technical assistance issues relating to privacy and consumer protection, and served as the FTC’s principal delegate in several international networks. During her tenure at the FTC, Sara also served as Counsel to Director of the Bureau of Consumer Protection and as an enforcement attorney in the FTC’s East Central Regional Office. Sara has a JD from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, and a BA from Kent State University.

Denise Elliott is the Chief Operating Officer at The Kiplinger Washington Editors, Inc., where she is responsible for strategy and bottom-line P&L responsibility for all media operations, in the Business Forecasting and Personal Finance groups, in print and online. Purchased February 28, 2019 by Dennis Publishing, LTD, Kiplinger was founded in 1920 by W.M. Kiplinger, the company developed one of the nation’s first successful newsletters in modern times. The Kiplinger Letter, launched in 1923, remains the longest continually published newsletter in the U.S. Denise is a past president of the SIIA board of directors, a past president of SIPA board of directors, board member at CSPI, publishers of Nutrition Action newsletter and past president of the DC Chapter of SIPA.

Heather Farley

COO, Access Intelligence

Heather is responsible for the operations and strategic direction across AI’s portfolio. She works closely with her division leaders to identify, acquire and integrate synergistic businesses as well as create strong organic growth through new product launches. Additionally, as a member of Access Intelligence’s Board of Directors, Heather plays an integral role in ensuring that the vision and mission of AI’s core strategic initiatives are successfully executed across all operating units. Heather is a recognized leader in the b2b community and sits on the board of SIPA (Specialized Information Publishers Association) and SIIA (Software & Information Industries Association). Daniel Fink

Dan oversees the Money-Media business unit, which was acquired by the Financial Times in January 2008. Money-Media is a native digital publisher with over 150 staff, nine products, and operations on three continents. Money-Media sits within FT Specialist, the Financial Times' specialist publishing division and publishes premium news across multiple industries. Dan is a member of the FT's senior management group, is the chairman of the FT's 401k investment committee, was elected to the board of directors for the Specialized Information Publishers Association (SIPA), and formerly served as Co-Chair of the East Coast Committee for the National Investment Company Service Association (Nicsa). Dan earned an MBA at Indiana University and was a national champion gymnast.

Emma Forber

David Foster

CEO, Business Valuation Resources

David Foster is the CEO of Business Valuation Resources, the U.S.-based publisher of transaction, legal and other databases for the business valuation profession. Much of BVR’s growth results from responses to the revolution in information industry business processes during the last decade—changes that have forced BVR and other publishers to redefine sales, marketing, product development, technology, content creation, pricing, and every other part of their operations. In addition to BVR, Foster was the co-founder of IOMA, Inc., a management publisher he sold to the Bureau of National Affairs in 1998. Adam Goldstein

Adam P. Goldstein is the publisher of Business Management Daily, a division of capitol Information Group, in Falls Church, VA. This is his second go-round with the company, having served as their marketing director in an earlier millennium. Business Management Daily produces newsletters, e-letters, books, reports, CDs, DVDs, membership websites, and over 200 webinars annually in the areas of human resources, leadership, office administration, office technology, and management. Adam has held marketing and publishing positions at Telecommunications Reports, Food Chemical News, Eli Research, and two stints at Business Publishers – his second as publisher and majority owner from 2005 to 2006. Erin Hallstrom

Emily Laermer

Emily leads the data visualization team at Money-Media, a Financial Times subsidiary with nine specialty publications. She also writes data-driven content for Ignites and BoardIQ, two of Money-Media’s asset-management-focused publications. Emily joined Money-Media in 2015, after five years at Crain’s New York Business. She is a graduate of Northwestern University.

Arno Langbehn

CEO, B. Behr's Verlag GmbH & Co. KG

Arno is the CEO at Behr’s Verlag, the leading specialist publishing house in German-speaking countries for the food industry for loose leaves, newsletters, books, CDs, DVDs, seminars and online products. He has over 20 years of experience in the publishing industry. In addition to the general tasks of a CEO he focuses on cross-media product development for specialist information in existing market segments and new ones. He was the keynote speaker at the SIPA Annual Conference in 2014 (http://bit.ly/SIPA2014 ) and is the author of the book on customer-oriented new product development, called "Praxishandbuch Produktentwicklung" (Practical Handbook of Product Development).

Paul Legrady

Paul Legrady is the Director of Sales at Business Management Daily, a division of Capitol Information Group. BMD serves HR leaders, business executives and office administrators with publications, conferences, webinars, in-person training, sponsorships and advertising. Paul is responsible for group sales for all of these services, and he was 47 percent over his running 2019 quota at the end of April. Mike Lessiter is the president of Lessiter Media, Inc. After 12 years in the Chicago area and a progression from editor to a publisher with oversight of several B2B titles, he joined the family business in Wisconsin in 2003 as executive vice president. Lessiter led LM through an aggressive growth chapter that included acquisitions, new product launches and segmentation of its audiences and became president in 2007. Today, his 40-person firm produces 10 niche titles, hosts 5 live national events, and produces a wide array of podcasts, videos, virtual events, custom publishing, customized research and special reports.

Veronica Magan

Director, Digital Growth & Innovation, Aerospace, Access intelligence

Veronica Magan is the director, Digital Growth and Innovation for the Aerospace, Defense, Energy, Engineering Satellite and Healthcare Groups at Access Intelligence. She supports the media and events brands in driving revenue through the execution of the groups’ digital revenue strategy, development of new digital products and the optimization of the content and digital experience for the brands. Christopher Mohr

General Counsel, Vice President of Intellectual Property, SIIA

Chris Mohr is Vice President for Intellectual Property and General Counsel for the Software and Information Industry Association (SIIA), the principal association representing software and digital content industries. Mohr spearheads public advocacy on intellectual property issues and works closely with technology industries. Previously, in private practice, Mohr provided strategic advice to technology, software, entertainment, and other clients on issues involving copyright, privacy, the First Amendment, licensing, public records access, and unfair competition. He has also appeared before legislative, judicial, and administrative bodies on matters of intellectual property and constitutional law and has been involved in several U.S. Supreme Court cases.

Jim Molpus

Jim Molpus Leadership Programs Director and Editor of HealthLeaders Media, a multi-platform leadership publisher targeted to the business needs of healthcare executives and a brand of Simplify Compliance. Vladimir Petkov

Under his leadership, the company has transformed into a fully integrated human-technology ecosystem, both in terms of service line-up and infrastructure. He also serves as CEO of A Data Pro’s artificial intelligence research and development hub, Identrics. Beyond his work at A Data Pro, Vladimir is also a vocal advocate for digitalisation and the adoption of new technologies by businesses in Bulgaria. He currently presents à popular podcast on media and technologies, and has served on the boards of the Bulgarian Web Association and the local branch of the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB). Clive Riddle

President and CEO, MCOL

Mr. Riddle is President of MCOL, a leading publisher of health care business information founded in 1995. He has overseen the company's growth from its original on-line membership service to now have an e-reach to over 180,000 and include acquired and organically developed divisions and services including webinars, print and electronic newsletters, directories and databases, sponsored content solutions, e-learning, specialized websites and more. A 30+ year veteran of the health care and managed care industry, Riddle has held a variety of high-level leadership positions including 12 years as Chief Executive Officer of a regional hospital owned managed care organization in California. There he was responsible for developing and overseeing HMO, PPO, insurance, clinic and pharmacy operations, where they developed into a $100 million-a-year business. Prior to that, Mr. Riddle held positions of increasing responsibility for the same hospital system, at both the facility and regional level, where he was charged with the implementation of numerous new programs, facilities and services. Riddle is often quoted in national health care industry media on managed care and health care business related issues, and has been a frequent speaker at national conferences. Riddle has written three novels: Dorris Bridge (2010), The Burning Z (2013), and The Z Tailgate (2016.) Throughout his career, Mr. Riddle has been an active participant on numerous community and professional boards of directors. Rob Ristagno

Julian Rose

Constance Sayers

Ms. Constance Sayers serves as President of Government Executive Media Group of Atlantic Media Company. Ms. Sayers served as Director of Events & Advertising Marketing of CQ - Roll Call, Inc. since November 2008. Ms. Sayers managed the marketing efforts for the advertising department, as well as assume responsibility for CQ Events, which were policy-focused events. Jack Simms

Jim Sinkinson

Jim Sinkinson founded Infocom Group in 1980 and sold it in 2015. The company produced online information services, newsletters, webinars, books, special reports and live professional development conferences for the corporate communications market. Sinkinson has won numerous awards for his work with publishers, including two Gold Awards from Newsletter on Newsletters, editorial awards from SIPA, and an Axel award for a personalized marketing package he created for Tom Peters’ On Achieving Excellence. In 2015, Sinkinson received a Gold Award from SIPA for his launch of a conference series. Sinkinson served as president of the Northern California chapter of the Specialized Information Publishers Association (SIPA) for 25 years, served on the SIPA board of directors for 12 years, and served as SIPA president in 1993-94. In June, 2001, Jim Sinkinson was named to the SIPA Hall of Fame. He has spoken on specialized information marketing and content at dozens of SIPA events and today, as a publishing consultant, continues to assist publishers worldwide. He offers expertise in copywriting, online marketing, editorial content, memberships, renewals and website development.

Bill Springer

Bill recently left Diversified Communications after a 21-year career of increasing responsibilities. Bill was, at various times, publisher of SeaFood Business, the trade magazine for the seafood industry, Vice President responsible for the IT organization, and Vice President of the Business Communities Group (BCOM). As Vice President of BCOM, Bill was responsible for the Institute of Finance and Management, which included two events, a membership organization, and a comprehensive certification program. APC, the largest conference for administrative professionals, and Accountex, a conference about accounting technology, were also within Bill’s sphere of responsibility. For the past four years, Bill was an Executive Vice President, with additional responsibility for Diversified’s content marketing, data management, market research, accounting and finance groups. Bill is now talking to multiple stakeholders, searching for the right acquisition, to launch the next phase of his career.

Kevin Turpin II

Kevin Turpin II is the president of National Journal. As the former senior vice president of National Journal, Turpin led the product development, strategy research, digital, and marketing teams. In this role, he oversaw product research, evaluated potential partnerships, and established operational infrastructure for the new product pipeline. For more than a decade working at National Journal, Turpin has produced successful proposals to increase profit margins, identified efficiencies in vendor relationships, and created new revenue lines for the organization. Turpin also built a strategic advisory group of 60 government affairs executives from Fortune 100 corporations and influential trade associations; resulting in the launch of National Journal’s Leadership Council. He is also responsible for the launch of Policy Brands Roundtable and the Network Science Initiative. He began his career gaining deep insights into the Washington media market and the needs of public policy professionals while serving in roles ranging from sales to manager of signature National Journal products such as The Hotline.
