This paper presented at the annual convention of the American Education Research Association (2010) describes preliminary results from treatment-control comparisons on the California Standard Test (CST) after one-year of implementation of ST Math approach, a suite of game-like exercises. Aggregate student scores within each grade in each school show the ST Math positively impacts mathematics achievement as measured by the CSTs, suggesting that the spatial-temporal approach to mathematics instruction can lead to gains in broad mathematics proficiency.
