Marketing & Communications Manager

Reports to: Senior Director, Marketing & Events

The primary function of the Marketing & Communications Manager is to support the SIIA divisions with marketing, promotion and campaign management for event, publications and other various projects. The individual will be responsible for designing and executing marketing plans from conception through measurement/feedback. The ideal candidate will have experience in multi-channel campaigns via email, direct mail, telemarketing, online/print advertising and social media. This position will have a strong emphasis on email and social marketing.

Description and Responsibilities 

  • Assist with development, planning and execution of SIIA marketing campaigns for all events, publications and other projects.
  • Develops and maintains schedules for marketing campaigns
  • Plan/execute, build, test and deploy email and social campaigns
  • Assist in copywriting
  • Provide marketing analysis reports and make recommendations for campaigns
  • List creation and maintenance – Ensure list integrity and proper list pull policies are adhered to and direct list cleaning initiatives
  • Manage all administrator functions of the email marketing tool
  • Keep up to date on the latest trends, technologies and best practices in marketing technology and social media
  • Manage PR strategy including writing and distributing press releases
  • Support events onsite as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned


  • Exceptional organizational, oral and written communication skills
  • A 4-year college degree required; 2-5 years of professional experience
  • Must possess excellent computer skills including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Experience with tools such as Google Analytics, HubSpot, MailChimp, Microsoft Dynamics CRM
  • HTML knowledge required
  • Knowledge of social media sites required
  • Videography/Editing knowledge a plus, but not required
  • Ability to propose and implement new work solutions
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to implement marketing efforts across the association
