Ashley Andersen Zantop

Ashley Andersen Zantop is GM at Pinpoint Learning, specializing in thought leadership, brand strategy, market strategy and go-to-market problem solving for global education, technology and media. Previously, Ashley served as Chief Content Officer for Capstone, a leading publisher of children’s books, digital solutions and services, literacy programs, and K–12 professional development resources for classrooms, school libraries and home. Before that, Ashley served as CEO, President and Publisher at Trudy Corporation, later Palm Publishing, responsible for the group's family of global children’s imprints and media businesses. Ashley has spent over 20 years in education. She began her career as an elementary school classroom teacher and collegiate coach. Ashley’s passion for continuous learning fuels her work creating and managing award-winning educational product lines, content, platforms, brands and user experiences in K-12, trade/B2B and consumer markets around the world. Ashley is the author of NOW WHAT? THE CREATIVE WRITER'S GUIDE TO SUCCESS AFTER THE MFA. She is the co-founder and former co-president of the Fairfield University MFA Alumni Association. Ashley holds a bachelor’s degree in Education and a bachelor’s degree in English Literature from the University of Michigan and teaching certifications K- 5 and 6 - 8. She also holds a Masters of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Fairfield University and certificates in Media Strategy from Harvard Business School and in Executive Function in the Classroom from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.

Anne Brown

Anne Brown is the Vice President of the Education Group at the Waterford Research Institute. She has oversight of Curriculum, Marketing, Professional Services, Business Development and launch of Curriculet. Anne has spent her career engaged in advancing the design and implementation of digital personalized learning. Her experience as a teacher in low-income, high risk schools prompted her desire to improve education for all learners, regardless of their circumstances. After accepting a position with Pearson Education, focusing on early literacy with Waterford Early Learning, Anne began to focus on the business end of EdTech. Anne has extensive expertise in designing curriculum and EdTech products. Additionally, Anne has expertise with federal, state, and local funding and sales in EdTech. Her entire career has focused on virtual, blended, and online learning. Anne has become a national leader in personalized learning and early childhood learning. She works closely with the AASA The School Superintendent’s Association creating and building two professional cohorts around the topics of Personalized Learning and Early Childhood Learning.

Larry Buchweitz

Mr. Buchweitz brings more than 20 years of experience in consultative sales with leading marketing service companies, by offering direct marketing solutions, database recommendations, and marketing strategies. Larry’s expertise is in creating e-marketing solutions and executing marketing options designed to optimize customer acquisition and retention campaigns. Larry also focuses is on identifying mutually beneficial business opportunities in the data industry. He has also held executive positions over the years, including leading the sales and marketing team in the K-12 schools and college markets.

Michael D Campbell

Michael Campbell is the founder and Principal Advisor at Forward Thinking EDU. Michael’s passion for improving education through technology and digital literacy has helped private and not-for- profit organizations market solutions that support the learning community. For over 20 years, Michael has held executive, marketing management and sales positions spanning K-12 and Higher Education technology and publishing, in addition to corporate and educational training. Prior to his current position at Forward Thinking EDU, Michael held leadership positions with start-ups and established companies. Michael’s enthusiasm for learning and education extends outside the office. He serves on the board of the local Parent Teacher Organization and he was elected to the by the local village to the library board.

Myron Alexander Cizdyn

Andrew Coulson
Chief Data Science Officer, MIND Research Institute

Andrew Coulson, Chief Data Science Officer at MIND Research Institute, leads a team of data analysts to conduct evaluations of student and teacher usage and outcomes on MIND’s ST Math instructional program. Prior to this position, he led MIND’s Education Division for 12 years, helping to devise and execute strategies and programs to scale the organization’s reach from 4,000 to over 1M students, now transforming student learning in 47 states. Before joining MIND, Coulson was the first education program officer for a major California private foundation. He also worked in high-tech manufacturing engineering for 6 years at Teledyne-Monitor Labs and 11 years at Northrup-Grumman/TRW Microelectronics, acquiring experience in operations, process engineering, product reliability and technology transfer. Coulson earned a B.S. and M.S. in physics from UCLA.

Alvin H. Crawford, Jr.

Mr. Crawford's focus is on creating solutions to improve outcomes for children through more systemic and effective approaches to teaching and learning, as well as promoting PCG's current service portfolio to a wider set of customers. Mr. Crawford has over 20 years of experience in education and media. Prior to arriving at PCG, Mr. Crawford served as the CEO of Knowledge Delivery Systems Inc. (KDS) for seven years before it's assets were acquired by PCG in 2016. His entree into education began in 2000, at the New York-based company, SchoolNet, Inc. where he served as Senior Vice President. He spent nearly a decade at SchoolNet. Mr. Crawford helped secure partnerships in some of the largest school districts in the United States. Prior to SchoolNet, Mr. Crawford served with several leading Internet agencies, Digitas, Ogilvy & Mather and Zentropy Partners in developing and implementing Internet strategies for large corporations, including Kodak, IBM, AIG, American Movie Classics and Express Scripts. He brings strong entrepreneurship, sales, marketing, internet strategy, management skills and deep industry expertise in professional development, equity and data driven decision making. Mr. Crawford has an MBA in Organizational Studies and Marketing and a Certificate in Leadership for Change from Boston College GSOM and earned BS degree from Tufts University.

Brendan is the Director of Government & Stakeholder Relations at D2L. D2L's learning management platform, Brightspace, is used by school and companies to personalize the learning experience for every student and deliver real results. Brendan’s role includes working with policymakers and education stakeholder groups to foster positive learning policy and promote innovative learning strategies and the use of technology for students and schools. This includes competency-based education, accessibility for students with disabilities, and student data privacy. Prior to joining D2L, Brendan was the Director of Education Policy for the Software & Information Industry.

Kate Finnefrock
CEO, ProjectEd

Kate Finnefrock is the CEO of ProjectEd, a mission-driven consulting firm focused on product design and development in the education space. Kate has worked in the edtech product world for the last 19 years, with a specialty in web and mobile software. She has launched over 50 products into US preK-16 classrooms. Her primary passion is to find ways of using technology to scale and share the effective practices of the country’s best teachers to schools that need it most. Kate started her career as an IT consultant and has held roles in product development, delivery, operations and project management for both large and small firms - including PriceWaterhouseCoopers, The College Board, Bigchalk and Amplify Education. Kate earned her BA from the University of Pennsylvania.

Neal Goff
Senior Advisor, Oaklins DeSilva+Phillips

Neal Goff is President of consulting firm Egremont Associates and a Senior Advisor at Oaklins, DeSilva+Phillips, a mid-market investment bank that specializes in media, technology and education. He founded Egremont Associates in 2010 after a successful 25-year career in publishing, which culminated in his serving for five years as President of the Weekly Reader Publishing Group. Egremont Associates assists clients in publishing and educational technology with strategic planning, marketing (with a particular focus on direct marketing), and partnership development. A past president of the Board of the Association of Educational Publishers, Neal also served previously as President of Scholastic Library Publishing and Prentice Hall Direct. He was a co-author of MDR's State of the K-12 Market report from 2012 to 2016 and is currently a member of the Board of Directors of non-profit organizations ReadWorks, which is committed to solving America's reading comprehension crisis, and Literacy Partners, which offers free classes in literacy and language skills to low-income parents in New York City.

Before establishing BeCREO Technologies Andrzej worked at Intel where he was responsible for the development of educational IT ecosystem in Central and Eastern Europe. He is the CEO & co-founder of BeCREO Technologies with a mission of developing innovative, intuitive, and intelligent solutions for education, focusing on coding and on the creation of smart electronic circuits. The company established in 2018 delivers its products to over 35 countries in the world and develops new products in close cooperation with top research and developments centers.

Jesse M. Gutierrez
VP, Public & Government Affairs, McGraw-Hill Education

Jesse Gutierrez leads the government affairs office at McGraw-Hill. He has a proven track record of working with Congress, state, local, and foreign governments to shape education policy that supports the growth of digital learning technologies. His experience ranges from directing high-level federal and state lobbyists to developing thought leadership public relations campaigns. Over the past 10-years, Jesse has influenced PreK-12 and higher education federal and state legislation across the country, including the Higher Education Opportunity Act in 2008 and Every Student Succeeds Act in 2015. He serves on the Software & Information Industry Association’s Government Affairs Council and he serves on the Association of American Publishers PreK-12 Higher Education Executive Committees. Jesse’s other leadership roles included heading government affairs for the analytical services unit of the Wall Street firm Standard & Poor’s and heading global communications for David Rockefeller’s international business organization the Council of the Americas. In all of his leadership roles, Jesse has worked closely with associations, think tanks, foundations, and various government entities.

Gary Mainor

Rachel Matus
Sr. Sales Manager, Amazon Web Services, Inc. (AWS)

Rachel is committed to transforming education through technological innovations such as personalized learning through the use of data and analytics and improving educational tools through artificial intelligence and machine learning. Prior to joining Amazon, Rachel held executive positions in higher education publishing, leading sales teams provide custom courseware solutions for mid-market and enterprise customers throughout the country. Now at AWS, Rachel and her teams serve as executive consultants navigating publishers through their digital transformation into true learning companies through strategic use of AWS services. Rachel holds an MBA from Washington State University.

David Rust
General Manager, HITN Learning

David Rust is a senior publishing leader with a successful record of creating, re-imagining and launching media and services for education. As head of business units at Reed Elsevier/Harcourt, Pearson, Scholastic and School Specialty, David engineered restructures of business units while refocusing them on new business ventures that have become game-changers in both consumer and school markets. In his work with Sandhill he has reoriented and restructured clients and launched initiatives in Common Core, STEM, digital, OER and global contexts, including service to all of the EngageNY nonprofits. His dedication to improving learner outcomes in diverse, low-income environments led him to chair the upgrade of AAP PreK-12’s Innovation Through Inclusion initiative, and become founding co-chair of SIIA ETIN’s Diversity committee.
