Annual SIPAwards Open for Nominations with Five New Categories

WASHINGTON (January 19, 2016) – The Specialized Information Publishers Association (SIPA) is now accepting entries for its 37th Annual SIPAwards. The SIPAwards, which will be presented at SIPA’s 40th Annual Conference: Pivoting for Profit, June 6-8 in Washington, DC, recognize the best in editorial and marketing by niche publishers. This year’s program features 25 categories, including Best Newsletter or Ezine, Best Single News Story, Best Live Event Marketing and Best Marketing for a New Product.

In addition, SIPA has announced five new categories that reflect the changing landscape of the publishing industry:

  • Best Series of Articles on One Topic
  • Best Interview or Profile of Someone in Your Industry
  • Best Use of Video
  • Best New or Relaunched Website
  • Best Mobile Smartphone App (Native)

“We’re excited by the new breadth and composition of the categories,” said Nancy Brand, SIPA’s managing director. “They join our tried-and-true categories, such as Best Analytical Reporting, Best Instructional Reporting, Best Blog and Best Daily Publication. The industry is evolving, and so we are embracing both the new and classic in our SIPAwards.”

Three finalists will be named in each category in May, and winners will be announced at SIPA’s 40th Annual Conference: Pivoting for Profit. The industry conference brings together the largest gathering of specialized information providers each year and features multiple keynotes, more than 24 presentations and panel discussions, and hours of peer-to-peer networking and information-sharing opportunities.

In addition to being honored at the conference, winners will have the opportunity to be profiled in the members-only SIPAlert Daily newsletter, present on a SIPA webinar or share their successes at a SIPA conference.
