Connectiv Announces New Incoming Chair of the Connectiv Board of Directors
Five new Executives join the Board effective immediately
WASHINGTON (October 22, 2018) – Connectiv, the Business Information Association, today announced Kevin Novak, CEO and Founder of 2040 Digital, was named Chairman of the Connectiv Board of Directors, succeeding Scott Mozarsky, former President of Bloomberg Law.
With Mozarsky’s departure, the new Connectiv Board of Directors Executive Committee is:
- Chair: Kevin Novak, CEO and Founder, 2040 Digital
- Vice Chair: Peter Goldstone, CEO, Hanley Wood
- Secretary: Bill Carter, CEO, ALM
- Treasurer: Kate Spellman, Chief Marketing Officer, Questex
- Immediate Past Chair: Marion Minor, CEO, EPG Media & Specialty Information
There will be five new members joining the Connectiv Board including:
- Barry Lovette, President & CEO, AC Business Media
- Andrew Mullins, CEO, Knowledge & Networking Division, Informa
- Gemma Postlethwaite, CEO, SourceMedia
- Katharine Robson, VP, Content Management, Wiley
- Christine Shaw, Managing Director & Senior VP B2B, FUTURE
Novak assumes the position as Chairman effective immediately. Novak states his overarching goal is to continue to grow the premier association for B2B media, content, technology and information industries ensuring its membership and leadership are reflective of a modern workforce with gender and ethnic diversity mirroring its B2B audience base.
“We need to continue to broaden our community recognizing that moving and managing in a digital first world requires us all to work with those within and external to our companies to achieve plans and goals,” says Novak. “The playing field is on level and one that recognizes we need each other.”
Novak continues, “The Connectiv collection of offerings and services to its members must seek to deepen alignment and address this community collaboration focus enabling our member companies to be successful.”
Mike Marchesano, Managing Director of Connectiv, states, “Our board members provide the business information and content industry with leadership, advocacy and critical market information in the months and years ahead. As representatives of Connectiv member firms, all of the newly elected executives will develop and prioritize Connectiv’s initiatives and determine the projects, activities and events to be undertaken.”
Marchesano continues, “Kevin has been an outstanding director and contributor to Connectiv. We know as chairman he will take this role with great energy and enthusiasm, which will serve the board and Connectiv community.” Marchesano also thanked Scott Mozarsky for his many contributions as both a Connectiv director and chairman this past year. On the new executive committee Marchesano noted “We are fortunate the executive committee will have the leadership of an outstanding B2B executive in Kate Spellman.”
