WASHINGTON, D.C. (March 27, 2019) – The Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA), the principal association for the software, information, and digital content industries, today welcomed the announcement that Karyn A. Temple will serve as the next Register of Copyrights

SIIA Senior VP for Global Public Policy, Carl Schonander, issued the following statement:

“The core copyright industries (software, books, movies and music) contribute over $1.2 trillion to the U.S. GDP and employ more than 5.5 million U.S. workers.  Given the importance of copyright to the national economy, and Karyn Temple’s longstanding work as Acting Register, we highly commend her elevation to serve as Register of Copyrights. SIIA congratulates her and looks forward to working with her on copyright issues in the future.”
