SIIA Submits Comments to Ways and Means Committee on U.S.-China Trade

Washington, D.C. (March 13, 2019) – The Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA), the principal association for the software and digital content industries, today submitted comments to the House of Representatives Ways and Means Committee on U.S.-China Trade.

SIIA Senior Vice President for Global Public Policy, Carl Schonander, issued the following statement:

“SIIA thanks Chairman Neal for holding the February 27, 2019 hearing and for the opportunity to comment.  We concur with the view that structural digital trade and intellectual property protection problems must be addressed.   However, SIIA opposes the tariffs and recommends working with allies and partners to develop a coordinated strategy to change Chinese trade and investment behavior.
