SIIA to Announce Policy Best Practices for Data Privacy; Webinar with Experts will Follow 

Thought Leaders will Debate Privacy Policy as AI, IoT & More Drive Data Collection


Washington, D.C. (July 19, 2016) – On Tuesday, July 26th at 2:00 pm, the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA), the principal association representing the software and digital content industries, will host a webinar to announce the organization’s new consumer privacy guidelines for policymakers. The announcement will be immediately followed by a panel discussion about practical ways to approach privacy protection in the current environment of increasing artificial intelligence and pervasive data collection.

The SIIA consumer privacy guidelines are a short, concise set of recommendations for policymakers.  They include background material and illustrations that make the recommendations plausible and actionable.

The expert panel will answer questions on protecting consumer privacy, establishing best practices in the collection of personally identifiable information, and understanding and changing consumer privacy policy.
