The CODiE awards is the ONLY peer recognized competition in education and business technology.

Nomination Period

Education and Business Technology products are invited to nominate for a CODiE Award. Most companies nominate their own products, but investors or sponsors are also welcome to nominate an award on the company’s behalf. → Learn more about the nomination process

First Round Expert Review: Judge Evaluations & Selection of Finalists

Product Demonstrations to Two Expert Reviewers
January 27 – March 19, 2020
Determines Finalists (and 80% of overall score)

In the first-round review, all nominated products receive a detailed review by two expert judges. First round CODiE Awards judges include industry executives and analysts, representatives of media outlets, bloggers, investors, and, for the education categories, educators and administrators. Each product is judged against category specific criteria so that the best products rise to the top. Once the first-round expert review is complete, all nominees receive detailed feedback from their judges that can be used in marketing, promotions and to help guide future product development.Top rated products from the first round of review are elevated to finalists.

Second Round Peer Review: SIIA Member Voting Members Vote on Top Products

April 8–17, 2020
Determines Winners (accounts for 20% of final score)

In the second round of review SIIA members quickly review and vote on the finalist products, and the scores of both rounds are combined to determine the winners.

Tip for Nominees

During the first round review you will need to schedule a one-hour demo with each of your judges (you’ll be assigned two judges per category). Make sure to reach out to judges immediately to get the demos on the calendar ASAP, especially if you are nominating in several categories.

Number of Finalists

The number of finalists in each category is determined by the total number of nominations in each category:

3 nominations = 2 finalists
4-5 nominations = 3 finalists
6-10 nominations = 4 finalists
11-15 nominations = 5 finalists
16-20 nominations = 6 finalists
21-25 nominations = 7 finalists
26-30 nominations = 8 finalists
31-35 nominations = 9 finalists
36-40 nominations = 10 finalists
