Tom Davin is Managing Director, Financial Information Services Association (FISD) of the SIIA. FISD is the global, neutral forum for the financial information industry with a diverse membership that includes major market data vendors, exchanges, technology providers, and the financial institutions that utilize financial data products. Tom works closely with FISD members to identify major issues and seek opportunities to bring the financial information industry together to discuss and resolve those issues. FISD conducts regular membership events in North America, Europe, Asia, Brazil, and Australia and hosts the biennial World Financial Information Conference – the premiere global industry conference for financial information professionals.

Bradley Firminger

Bradley Firminger leads MDSL’s North America market data operation from the New York City offices. He joined MDSL in 1999 after implementing MDM (Market Data Manager) at Morgan Stanley. Prior to that he was a market data analyst working on the trading floor with Swiss Bank (now UBS) and started up the market data team in New York for CIBC. Living in Manhattan, Bradley is a Canadian, married to a working New York actress.

Rudy Luukko is editor, investment and personal finance, at Morningstar Canada. Before joining Morningstar in 2004, he worked as an editor and writer for various general, specialty and institutional media. He holds a Canadian Investment Manager (CIM) designation and a Bachelor of Journalism degree from Carleton University. A former chair and founding member of the Canadian Investment Funds Standards Committee (CIFSC), he has also co-authored courses for the Canadian Securities Institute.

Mike has worked in Canada’s wealth management industry for nearly 20 years. Having worked at large Canadian banks, foreign owned wealth management firms, and boutique national dealers, Mike currently applies his diverse experience in helping the finance industry cope with the fast pace of change related to technology and wealth management.

As the head of business development for IRESS Canada, he leads a team that partners with wealth and financial markets firms to bring new and innovative technology-based solutions and services to serve advisors, clients, and capital markets participants.

As a passionate advocate of fiduciary best practices, Mike attained Canada’s first Certification of Fiduciary Excellence (CEFEX) of a portfolio management firm through an independent audit of fiduciary standards. He is an Accredited Investment Fiduciary Professional (AIFP), and member of the Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA). Mike is also a Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA).

Mike is a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI) with both the CIM (Chartered Investment Manager) and FMA (Financial Management Advisor) designations. He is currently registered with the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC) as a Portfolio Manager, and works with Macquarie’s Private Investment Counsel in managing assets for Macquarie clients. He has also completed the Life License Qualification program (LLQP), and is licensed in Ontario and Alberta, Canada.

Mike earned his MBA from the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Business and his bachelor degree in history from the University of Western Ontario.

Nick Merritt

Nick joined FISD in May 2007 and works with members focused on anti-piracy of market data, data provider contract licenses and policies as well as communication among participants in the market data industry. In addition, he serves as the primary point of contact for the Data Vendor Constituent Group and the Index Forum Group. Prior to joining FISD Nick was employed with the American Bankers Association from 2002-2007 and with The NASDAQ Stock Market from 1987 – 2001 where he served as Senior Director Issuer Services. Nick holds a BA from The University of Mississippi and an MBA from The George Washington University.

Eric Sinclair

Eric joined as TP ICAP’s CEO Information Services in November 2017. TP ICAP Information Services, from the Toronto Stock Exchange (TMX) where he spent 14 years, most recently as president of its Market Insights Division.

During his time at TMX, Eric led the growth of their data business by focusing on strategic partnerships and acquisitions, as well as the development of new products and services. Prior to working at TMX, Eric was Executive Vice President at Spectra Securities Software and Vice President, Reuters.

Ruxandra Smith

Market Regulation, Ontario Securites Commission

Ruxandra is a Senior Accountant at the Ontario Securities Commission, the agency responsible for administering and enforcing securities law in the province of Ontario. Ruxandra is part of the Market Regulation Branch, which regulates key market infrastructure entities and develops and implements policies to address market structure, trading and post-trade clearing and settlement issues.

Her current responsibilities include oversight of exchanges, fixed income and equity alternative trading systems. Ruxandra has been involved in a number of projects dealing with fixed income and market structure issues, including initiatives related to fixed income transparency in the Canadian capital markets. Prior to joining the Ontario Securities Commission, she worked at Deloitte & Touche LLP.

Ruxandra joined the Ontario Securities Commission in 2000. She holds a Chartered Professional Accountant designation and has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Queen’s University.
