The SIIA IMPACT Awards is a new awards program that acknowledges leadership in the publishing industry, specifically championing Emerging Talent and Equity.
These awards are a part of SIIA’s continuing commitment to help our members achieve better outcomes in diversity, equity and inclusion and spotlight and develop outstanding young professionals across the publishing industry.

Emerging Talent recognizes those aged 35 and under who have 3+ years of service to the industry and have demonstrated outstanding success and leadership potential.
Equity Awards recognize individuals and teams demonstrating significant progress and identifiable achievement toward efforts related to advancing diversity, equity and inclusion.

SIIA’s Associations, Magazine and Publishing division (AM&P Network) has long supported the publishing community—convening events, networking, continuing education and opportunities for professionals across the industry to grow in their careers. Leading the industry again, SIIA is proud to launch the IMPACT Awards, celebrating excellence among rising talent and dedication in DEI advancement.

The SIIA Awards committee seeks experienced professionals in DEI, membership, human resources, publishing and communications to serve as judges for the inaugural SIIA IMPACT Awards.
IMPACT Award judging will take place virtually. Judges will then convene for a 2-hour, live, digital roundtable discussion to determine the final award winners. Entries will be evaluated with set criteria.
IMPACT Award nominees are redefining the industry standards. Take this opportunity to give back and help spotlight industry leaders. As an IMPACT Award judge, you will gain behind-the scenes-exposure to the standout achievements of emerging talent, as well as an insider’s view of game-changing work being done to champion DEI. After a complete evaluation of submissions, winners will be announced on November 15 at a live event in Washington, DC. (Learn more about sponsorship opportunities.) Live tweeting and chat will add excitement as the winners are announced. Each winner will receive a social media toolkit including SIIA IMPACT winner badge to use. In addition, the class of winners will become a part of the founding community of IMPACT honorees, a prestigious network that will help shape and drive positive change for the industry.

The application includes a series of short-answer questions to illustrate the candidate’s transformative contributions and detail about specific projects and results. Supporting documents are required: resume, bio, (2) letters of recommendation.
The application includes several short-answer questions that describe actions taken to elevate equity within a community, supported by meaningful and measurable results. Nominees have the option of uploading additional PDF documentation to support their nomination.
Nominated projects/initiatives or ERG accomplishments should have occurred– or in case of ongoing efforts, begun– between April 1, 2021 and June 1, 2022.
